Have you tried clearing the cookies using the instructions posted upthread?

Cookie cleaning instructions for Firefox users:

Tools > Options
Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Manage Data...
Type "piazza" (no quotes) in the search bar
Remove All Shown
Save Changes
Try to log in again
This worked for me (I thought I posted about this earlier this morning, but... I was still low on coffee, so maybe not?)

Also, Editing and Removing through the iOS Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data (may need to "Show All Sites," and iOS lists them in descending file size order)

... has fixed the problem on my iPad/iPhone

I'm using Chrome. I cleared all my cookies (they were delicious) and it seemed to clear up the problem. I logged in and checked the box to keep me logged in. That was maybe an hour ago. When I fired up Chrome again just now and navigated to the Piazza, I was logged out. I logged back in successfully but it seems like checking that box to keep me logged in isn't working. I keep getting logged out.

I didn't have problems logging in, but in the last few days the "keep me logged in" box didn't always work, so I had to log in again two or three times. I didn't have to clear my cookies nor to use private mode (incognito on some browsers). Guess I'm lucky. I'm on the latest Safari (12.0.1) on macOS 10.14.1.

Are you going to "thepiazza.org/uk...." or "www.thepiazza.org.uk...."?

I stay logged in on the "www." version, but have to log in every time if I get lazy and don't type the "dubyas"

Sometimes it a good idea to erase your bookmark and make a new one.

Able to log in by going to Incognito mode on Chrome. I'm not comfortable with purging my cache and cookies. Hopefully the log-in loop will be fixed soon.
Don't delete all your cookies. That will stuff up settings you have for other websites that are not wrong. (It bugs me when people tell users to delete all of their cookies. Sometimes it is necessary, but people should always try deleting individual cookies first.)

Google Chrome Help says this:
Delete specific cookies wrote:Delete specific cookies

Delete cookies from a site
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More and then Settings.
  3. At the bottom, click Advanced.
  4. Under "Privacy and security," click Content settings.
  5. Click Cookies and then See all cookies and site data.
  6. At the top right, search for the website's name.
  7. To the right of the site, click Remove
Hope that helps.

It's probably best to do that in another tab, so you can refresh the Piazza tab and see if you can log in again.
Thank you so much for breaking this down! I'm logged in now after deleting my Piazza cookies. No issues! Woohoo!

Firefox is working for me. Guess I should clear out the bad cookies in Chrome and Vivaldi.

I use Firefox (W7) with a desktop - I cleared the piazza-only cookies Tuesday, and have had no problems since (including just now). It is keeping me logged in as normal.

Given that my version of Firefox doesn't appear to have a Tools menu, I did not find those instructions terribly helpful.

I fail to understand how having an outdated cookie can make it impossible for me to login at all. The cookie is supposed to *keep* me logged in, isn't it? It's like having a seat belt which keeps throwing you out of your car; I don't get how this can happen.

I followed instructions for my PC and deleted Piazza cookies in Chrome and Firefox. Things appear to be working now. OTOH, I don't see a way to delete Piazza cookies on my Android phone for Chrome and the DuckDuckGo browser.

Yeah, I'm not willing to delete ALL cookies from my browsers. I've done it once or twice in the past and it's a huge pain in the neck re-setting everything.

Well, it will log you out from all sites, of course. Luckily I don't use many sites with login from my smartphone, so no big loss for me.

I couldn't find anything for DDG on Android, but here are the instructions to clear cookies on Chrome for Android.

Yes Tim, not going to clear all cookies from Chrome. Thanks, though, for trying to be helpful.

Sorry about that. I should've read the instructions more closely before pasting them. How about this suggestion? https://android.stackexchange.com/quest ... in-android

top right corner of your browser window, three horizontal bars (like the rungs of a ladder). from there, go to options, the rest is the same.
