Thanks to Zenopus's revelations from the Holmes Manuscript, as well as prodding from various quarters, I've decided to expand the list of character classes available to players in the BLUEHOLME™ Compleat Rules:

I am now waiting for my print proof copy of the BLUEHOLME™ Prentice Rules perfect bound edition to arrive in my letterbox. It might be a while, so be patient – even if all goes swimmingly, it takes a while for things to wing their way to me across the Pacific.

If things don’t go swimmingly, of course, it may be back to the drawing board for some serious reformatting …

[OD&D] BlueHolme OSR Basic

Postby shesheyan » Sat Jul 18, 2015 2:35 pm

Stumbled on this G+ page today. Looks like a OSR remake of Holmes Basic D&D levels 1-3. «Old school adventures in the Holmes style»
The starting adventure is the Necropolis of Nuromen.

I suppose admin magic could merge these posts into said thread? :)

Both BlueHolme threads merged. I added an OD&D tag to the thread, although I realize this is closer to Holmes than OD&D. Let me know if you hate it.

Thanks, Dragon Turtle! I can't bring myself to say I hate an OD&D tag, but it might leave visitors confused and angry. ;)

The three DMs of the Save or Die podcast did an episode on the BLUEHOLME™ Prentice Rules: http://saveordie.info/?p=1394

They raised a lot of valid points, but they did all say "awesome" a lot so I guess they kind of liked it. :)

I'm a big fan of the Hypertext d20 SRD website. Is there anything like a "Blueholme SRD" website out there? :-)

Of course, now that there is a whole section for OD&D I feel right at home with that tag!

If there were two of me and the other one knew anything about websites, I'm sure there would be. :P

I'm not an expert on Holmes, but if it would be more logical to have a few topics that have a "[Holmes]" tag in them, then perhaps the local Topic Title Editing Giant Space Hamster could be persuaded to change a few topic titles. :)

Does that mean you might be happy to work with someone else who would be prepared to help get a Blueholme Reference Document online? :)

I know that Blacky the Blackball is game for an SRD-like document to be made of his Dark Dungeons rules.

I think it is going to be Indiegogo, but I couldn't see a link to the fundraising page.

It's not there yet! Because I'm going to Okinawa. But the Indigogo will go live sometime this summer. It's won't be a Kickstarter unless they've changed their permitted geographical locations (I'm in Hong Kong, and bank accounts in international financial centres clearly can't be trusted!).

Did I say summer? Surely winter is close enough. In fact, I have two pieces of art even before the Indiegogo gets under way, by a gentleman named C. Holmes. ;)

Launch date for the Kickstarter is set as 4 April 2017!

Click here for a preview of the Kickstarter

For anyone who hasn't been following my updates, the whole and entire purpose for this Kickstarter is to fund quality interior artwork. I have already paid for and received beautiful cover art (by Jean-Francois Beaulieu), as well as a few teaser pieces by Bradley K. McDevitt (there's one in the post above). In addition, the generous Chris Holmes, son of the legendary Dr J. Eric Holmes himself, has donated illustrations of a "cave creeper" and a wereshark, and is in the process of creating an "octocat" (an 8-limbed feline, with 6 legs and 2 tentacles?). These teasers, plus the list of proposed artists, is enough to give anyone an idea of the art direction.

"Maester" pledge levels for the hardback are almost gone - these are ultra-cheap and won't be repeated. Still some "Journeymanne" levels left for the softcover. Once these are gone there are other options, but they will be at higher pledge levels to stop me from going too far into the red. :)

Well, here we are - last week of the Art Kickstarter for the BLUEHOLME™ Journeymanne Rules. We have all the art for the book, we're getting illustrated character sheets, the Referee Repository, the Blueholme Brochure, and who knows - maybe we can crack another stretch goal or two! If you're at all interested, or know someone who might be - as well as helping create cool stuff you'll be getting a great deal if you back now.

Ends on 4 March!

The first of the stretch goals has gone out to the backers: six illustrated character sheets - cleric, fighter, magic-user, thief, fighting mage, and generic. If you missed the Kickstarter, you can nab high-res printable copies off DTRPG.
