I keep PDF copies of the SR and first 20 or so issues of Dragon on my computer because they seem to most directly impact the rules and philosophy of my edition of choice.

I remember doing a bit of research once to figure out when Dragon transitioned from OD&D to AD&D but the exact issue number escapes me at the moment.

Tim Kask (Kaskoid on The Piazza) created The Dragon, so he should know the answer to this.

The "sneak peek" for the AD&D DMG was in issue #22 and some designer's notes appear in issue #28. That's going to be pretty close to the actual transition, since TSR was clearly moving in an AD&D direction at this point.

I tend to think of #32 as the last OD&D issue.
