Non-Dragon Ageing
In most campaigns the time covered within the story is too short for ageing to be a factor and 5e has no rules for ageing. However a Council of Wryms campaign might span centuries of game time. For games like this use the table of age categories by race provided in the boxed set (Book 2 page 38). For non-standard races CBHu has an appendix giving ageing for many races. Most characters start at adult, for adolescents apply the modifiers given then reverse these when Adult is reached. These adjustments assume that the heroes are among those lucky enough to grow in learning and wisdom as they reach great age.
Adolescent: +2DEX, -2STR
Adult: no adjustment (if started as an adolescent -2DEX, +2STR)
Middle Aged: -2STR, +2WIS
Old: -2DEX, -2CON, +2WIS, +2INT
Venerable*: -2STR, -2DEX, -2CON, +3WIS, +3INT
*On entering the last year of the Venerable age category character’s maximum hit points is reduced by 1d4 per day. If the character only undertakes light activities and gets lots of bed rest then maximum hit points are reduced by only 1 point. When the character’s maximum hit points reaches zero they die of old age.

Re: 5e conversion Kindred aging
Does Council of Wyrms have the companions of dragons gain extended lifespans then? Is there some sort of bond with the dragon that does this?

No, hence the need for these rules in the 2e boxed set and my conversion. A dragon may outlive several kindred servants in her long life. Longevity is one of the traits dragons cite to support thier claims of superiority and therefore right to ruleBig Mac wrote:Does Council of Wyrms have the companions of dragons gain extended lifespans then?
