John Carter of Mars supplemental rulebooks

John Carter of Mars supplemental rulebooks

Post by Yaztromo »

Looks like Modiphius is working hard on this franchise!
  • Dotar Sojat Era Supplemental Rulebook - January 2020
  • Prince of Helium Supplemental Rulebook - February 2020
  • Jeddak of Jeddak Supplemental Rulebooks - March 2020
I'm impressed.

I take it these are Kickstarter stretch goals.

Is this the entire product line, or is there more coming?

They were stretch goals for the already-funded Kickstarter. Dotar Sojat Era has already been released. The other two may be the last two to wrap up delivery of the Kickstarter. I haven't been keeping close track, though.

What surprises me is that there are is a growing number of John Carter of Mars titles being sold (and being sold in big numbers, even just judging from the superb success of the Kickstarter), and I still can't find anybody willing to play this game... :/

I hear ya. I keep buying the books as they come out and add them to my box of John Carter stuff, yet I've never played the thing and no one at my game store seems to know anyone who has, either. I'd love to give this game a honest try, but I still want to play before I run.

This campaign viewtopic.php?f=108&t=20598 is ongoing well (since late 2017) in the same setting and with a simple ruleset adapted by an amateur specifically for Barsoom.
I can't believe there is nobody around running Modiphuis' version, that has wonderful artwork and has been professionally edited. They must be hiding carefully from me :P

The "Prince of Helium" book is out today, according to an e-mail I got from Modiphius.

(I feel like this thread has become a tennis match between you and I, Yostromo. Back to you. ;) )

I'm so glad this is becoming less and less a tennis match between the two of us... :D

The Jeddak of Jeddaks Era Supplemental Rulebook has been released on DriveThru on the 10th of March. I believe this is the last supplement of the fabulous Kickstarter.
Hopefully, soon more and more people will play this game as well...
