[Modipius] John Carter Special Dice

[Modipius] John Carter Special Dice

Post by Havard »

I came across these special dice for the John Carter of Mars RPG:

Zodanga Dice
Thark Dice
Helium Dice

How do these dice work? Are they required in order to play? Are there more than the ones I listed above?

Hi, no those are not required as you can play with regular d20s and d6s.
However, as the d6 has to be read in non standard fashion, having these themed dice may prove helpful.
D6s are used for damage/combat effect rolls (if I remember correctly) and a result of 1-2 means no damage, a 3-4 is 1 damage plus effect, a 5 is 1 damage, a 6 is 2 damage.
(or something like that)

Thanks for explaining. I like special dice that can speed up the game as long as they aren't required to play. Sounds like Mopdiphius has found a good sollution here.

I still haven't picked up the RPG, but it is on my to buy list.

You are welcome!
I'm in the same boat, not owning yet and wanting to buy in the near future :)

I'm the opposite. I bought and have no one to play it with. (The rules are a bit different, to me, and I don't feel like I quite grok them enough to run a game yet. Still hoping to find a GM first, then I can become one second.)
