New 5e book hints at Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh content

Over at EN World, there's a preview of the latest D&D 5e book. Some fans have spotted content that hints at ties to Sinister Secret at Saltmarsh. Do you think this is an adventure that will be located in the Realms (similar to placing Tomb of Annihilation in FR rather than Greyhawk)? Or will this open up DM's Guild content in Greyhawk, in the same way Curse of Strahd did for Ravenloft?

Turns out, the ties to Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh were spot-on.
They just announced the book, called Ghosts of Saltmarsh. It's a nautical-themed book with new rules for ships, apparently, and is based on the Unearthed Arcana stuff that has been developed on livestream by Mike Mearls.

It seems to share a model like Tales from the Yawning Portal in that includes various adventures.
There are certainly many of us that are hoping for opening GH to the DMsGuild.
WotC has specifically said that the way it will work in all probability is that it would follow the same model Ravenloft and Ravnica did, with a single base book that introduces the setting, and content will be available on the DMsGuild after that.

Have they said that about this book and GH? Or do you mean that's how they've said they'd handle supporting new settings in 5e in general?

That's what they've said is the most likely course for any setting that is released. I think it may've been Mike Mearls who said that they were going to wait to see how Ravnica did after it was released, and then take a look at how likely they were to do either just a hardback (like Ravenloft), or a PDF that is revised after player feedback which then is released as a hardback.
But, they said it's the model they had, and were interested to see if it was successful/popular/whatever enough to do again. They implied they weren't creating other formats or models to follow, so that IF they do another one, it'd be the same or similar format.
Keep in mind, I'm paraphrasing.

Discussion of Ravnica's being part of the DMsGuild split into a separate thread here.

I also posted this in the thread linked above:
There's more info on this book in this Youtube Interview with Kate Welch who was part of the design team.

"We have isolated [Saltmarsh] from [Greyhawk] so ut can be dropped into any setting". Not sure if that means all references to GH have been removed.
Figured this part would be of interest to Greyhawk fans. There might be more in the interview that I missed since I listened to it while doing other stuff.

This is all speculation, of course, but my guess is that GH will be offered as an optional setting where the adventures can be located (along with FR, Eberron, and others).

The Raging Owlbear blog found another clue: a reference to the Azure Sea.
