How many Dark Dwarf races are there?
How do they compare to Duergar and other standard D&D Dwarves?

Wikipedia wrote:Derro Dwarves (Dark Dwarves)
According to the Dragonlance Campaign Setting, the Dark Dwarves are two clans of mountain dwarves who live in total darkness. They are sometimes thought mad, and are generally evil. They contain the Theiwar, extremely fair dwarves who are the only clan to have an interest in magic, and the Daergar, sometimes known as Dewar, who sided with rebels and were banished deep underground. They are also assassins, who specialize in short swords, and daggers.

Re: Dark Dwarves of Krynn
Ah, I remember reading about the Dark Dwarves in one of the Stormblade novel. Daergar were the other race. I could not remember their name. Thanks!

Re: Dark Dwarves of Krynn
The main difference between the dwarven clans of Krynn and the dwarven subraces in other AD&D camapaign settings is that Krynn has it's own deities and it's own origin story.
So on Krynn the dwarves mostly worship Reorx. And the dwarves are related to gnomes and kender.
The Dwarf article on Dragonlance Lexicon has a list of Types of Dwarves down towards the bottom of the page.
You will also want to take a look at the Theiwar and Daergar articles. As well as giving you a run down on these two types of Dark Dwarves they also have lists of dwarves in the articles and you can have a look at these specific characters to get a better idea about them.

Re: Dark Dwarves of Krynn
Do any of the 5e dwarf sub-races represent these dark dwarf clans well?
