5E Dragonlance - Classes allowed?

Post by Havard » Mon Dec 31, 2018 3:26 pm

Which classes would you allow in a 5E Dragonlance campaign?

Perhaps even more than in previous editions, arcane spells are now available for many classes. Would they all be organized within the Order of High Sorcery?

Where would you place Eldrich Knights?

What about Paladins vs. Knights of Solamnia, Takhisis and Legionaries of Steel?

All of them.

It depends on the class. For the most part, I would have only wizards as WoHS. Sorcerers use Wild Sorcery, which can best be represented with the wild magic sorcerous origin. Warlocks would be rare, but exist outside of the Orders. Arcane tricksters and eldritch knights are dabblers. Bards...I'd just have them use their own blend of mysticism. They're always an odd fit anyway.

No need in this edition to have such rigid lines on magic.

Knights of the Thorn, the Kingfishers (part of the Solamnic Auxiliary), Legion of Steel, elves....

Think of Krynn's organizations as factions. No need for special classes. Paladins can serve in any of those organizations, or outside of them.

There was very little difference between a paladin and a Sword Knight anyway.
