Dragonlance Adventure Path!

Post by Into the Unknown » Tue Feb 19, 2019 2:31 am

Heyo! So, I have a weekly TTRPG group, and I've been thinking ahead about some of the adventures I've always wanted to run but have just never had the chance. So, my question is this: has anyone ever run the Age of Mortals Adventure Path (AP), and if so, would you recommend me running it using 3.0, or trying to adapt it to a more polished rules system?

I believe it was written for the D&D 3.5 edition. I haven’t run it, but many people have. I would suggest running it with whatever edition/game you enjoy most, but if you have no particular preference, just run it as written. Sovereign Press put out a very extensive and sometimes very crunchy series of support products, so, you could save a lot of time converting and just let them do the work for you. I think 3.5e was and continues to be plenty popular. It’s not my favorite, but, not for lack of polish.

So it was! I’d still love to run it using 13th Age. But I might end up just adapting it to Pathfinder. That’s be the easiest option.

You could try it with 13th Age, and then switch to Pathfinder as a fallback.

This is also true. Hopefully after running another AP with 13A, I’ll have a handle on how to do some of that stuff on the fly.

I convert all sorts of adventures into 13th Age. As long as I prep some monsters and the occasional magic item, I can do the rest on the fly. If things go in an unexpected direction, even the monsters might get created ad hoc. I recommend giving it a try.
