[Great Mother] Strange World

Post by aklanda » Tue Nov 14, 2017 6:41 pm

Started on a new world that I call "Great Mother".

It has several continents and is mostly covered with water. I wonder what people live in it?

I heard rumors that in one part of it there are monsters called leprechauns, giants, little ones and harbingers of death like banshees and dullahans. There also seems to be a sea-folk which they call selkies or merrows. I really have to dig in in that theme ;)

Seems like there is also lots of magic in it, as there are druids and the banshees are said to have a spell that frightens everyone to death.

I already made a hex-world-map so far and also plan to focus on some of its countries.

Here is an preview of the hex-map with 72-miles hexes.

(As this is based on a mercator-projection of the world. The hexes are not 72 miles everywhere)

The high-res picture is roughly about 20000x10000 px and has about 14MB.

Well Earth is arguably one of the best campaign settings. It's got several thousand years of recorded history, different cultures, myths, legends...

Yes, that´s what I thought, too. Well, right now I am a bit entangled by real life. But I will try to continue this...
