Post by lwhitehead » Wed Aug 10, 2016 8:45 am

Hi I would like create a Swashbuckling D&D world that I would like to see Official I hope, timeframe is 1630 to 1690.

I still like AD&D rules 2nd version,

and I got to find Torrents that work since they began clamping down last week,

Ummm. You are looking for Twin Crowns, which is a out-of-print Age of Sail RPG, but you should be able to get it mail order for a decent price at Noble Knight Games or Troll & Toad.

It includes the following books;

Twin Crowns Campaign Setting: Age of Exploration Fantasy

Broadsides: Naval Adventuring

Charge! : Military Rules Supplement

Pirates!

and Agents of Faith: Crusaders of the Gods

There is also one two more book that I did not acquire from this series,

Cities of Silver and uh... Spellbound, a Codex of Ritual Magic. These last two just weren't very good. The others, just super for doing a D&D Age of Sail campaign.

I'm a little unclear about your intention in starting this thread. Do you want help building something that you can promote into its own subforum here, or for submission elsewhere? In either case, you definitely need to give us a nice, meaty pitch to get the ball rolling! Right now, "swashbuckling D&D, circa 1630-1690, preferably in AD&D 2nd edition," is just a time period and a rules set, not a distinctive campaign seed yet. Share more of the ideas that you have so far. Tell us what turns you on about that genre and period, and what kinds of cool things you want to include. You'll get more useful feedback that way.
