For the last couple month I've been trying to convert the two 3rd Edition Oriental Adventures scenario found in Dungeon Magazine. Namely "Honor and Eta" in Dungeon 89 and "The Palace of Plenty" in Dungeon 130 (and its Web Enhancement).
I've been using the old 2nd to 3rd conversion document that Wizards had done as well as all of my 1st/2nd edition OA stuff. However, it's my first attempt at that and I'm not too sure about a couple things. Particularly is the recommended level for the adventure still accurate (and some monster I had to pretty much do from scratch)...so any feedback would be appreciated.
The document Conversion OA 3rd to 1st is a simple Word document in which I've restat every NPC, monster and converted the treasures into OA treasure, monetary value.
A couple notes:
NPC classes classes has been removed and changed into regular 1st ed NPC;
Monsters are class-less
Same for Ghosts, they are simple ghost with no class anymore (although I could maybe use Ravenloft's Requiem to allow ghost with class);
Human multi-classes has been converted into the appropriate dual-classes character, none human multi-classes characters has been reverted to single class character (as multiclassing is not allowed in 1st ed OA) with the exception of 1 for dramatic effect.
The 3rd edition spells has not been converted as most can be found already or the equivalency can be done on the fly (I might work on it later though).
Hope you enjoy it.

Dropbox seem to have taken down your document, Boneguard. Do you still have a local copy?Boneguard wrote:The document Conversion OA 3rd to 1st is a simple Word document in which I've restat every NPC, monster and converted the treasures into OA treasure, monetary value.

Nicely done. It does my heart good to see someone convert 3e back to 1e.

Thank you.ghendar wrote:Nicely done. It does my heart good to see someone convert 3e back to 1e.
Converting 3rd ed to earlier edition is a bit tricky and a bit of an art, but worth the effort as they do have good ideas to exploit.
