Oriental Adventures 1e retro clones?

A place where the monk class won't feel like an oddball. Kara-Tur can be discussed in the FR sub-forum. Rokugan, Mahasarpa and other Asian-themed worlds can be discussed here.

Oriental Adventures 1e retro clones?

Post by Yojimbo » Thu Nov 01, 2012 9:44 pm

Are there any retro clones of the 1e OA book? I'm aware of Ruins & Ronin but that appears to be a reskinned Swords & Wizardry.

So, any OA clones that I'm not aware of?

Jim.

"OSRic Unearthed" includes Ninja, samouraï and Yamabushi among other classes, and an extensive system for martial arts, so it's kind of a clone for OA (&Unerathed arcan, by the way). I never used it, but it looks to be well-done material.

Thanks.

I discovered an attempt to convert OA to Labyrinth Lord AEC on this blog. Interesting, but unfortunately incomplete.

"By the Book" or "BtB" merely means that the game is being played within close physical proximity to one or more of the books containing the material which explains how to play the game. If the book is not within close proximity, one is playing "away from the book" or "across from the book" or "someplace where the book is not located".

Well, Yojimbo mentioned it, but didn't drop a link, so your post adds to what Yojimbo said, rather than duplicates it. :)
