Sounds about right. I think the 5E realms is set about 15 years after the 4E setting, but I'm not really sure.

The last 2nd edition products published went up to 1374 DR. Dunno what year the 3e Campaign Setting started at.

I recall 1372 is the starting year for 3E. Afaik the latest 2E sourcebooks updated to 1370 giving only hints about future events for 1371 and 1372..

It seems there are conflicting informations about this.
A thread on Candlekeep said, looking at sources in the novels, that 1485 should be the year of Tiranny of Dragons and 1491 for Princes of the Apocalypse.
It seems reasonable that such shattering events could be some years apart..
Rage of Demons is hinted at 1486 DR in R.A.Salvatore's novel.
Yet I think you get the above date from the adventures, which indeed indicate 1489 for Tiranny of Dragons, even if that contradicts explicit novel sources.
Bottom line, I think WotC made a mess with the timeline, what a surprise :)

I was wrong.

I did read again Princes of the Apocalypse tonight and in the first chapter it says the current year is DR 1491.

Apologies.

According to the SCAG, 5e is set after the beginning of 1489 DR, but before the 1492 DR (the ''next'' Shieldmeet will fall in 1492 DR). I guess that the starting date is 1489 DR, as the Sundering fully completes in that year.

As of Death Masks, the last of Ed's novels, the timeline is 1491 DR. I guess that is the last year of the officially supported timeline.

Are all the 5E Forgotten Realms adventures set in 1491, or can we assume that the timeline has advanced further?

I think they have a very loose timeline now, with 5E adventures happening "1490-ish" (modify exact dates to suit your campaign needs).

I think you are supposed to be able to run all the 5e adventures in any order. (Although that seems a bit bonkers to me.)

You might want to find out the important dates from the Arcane Age products (one product line is based around Netheril and the other around the elves). Both of those times are technically playable eras. And Mystra is destroyed by a Netherese wizard, with the replacement deity, Mystryl, reworking magic to prevent spellcasters from casting 10th, 11th and 12th level spells.

Do the adventures have a suggested order? I haven´t read them all, as I still hope to play one or the other as a player. Is there any content suggesting that the events of other adventures have happened already? Or is it just the "take publishing year, subtract x years, and voilá!" thing? (would be about 525 years, if you take 2014 as 1489).

Current adventures (Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus and its AL companions) are set in 1494 DR, it seems. So, I guess not all 5e adventures are set in the same year.

That would work fine with the "subtract 525 from the publishing year to arrive at the DR year" idea.
