Magic Books of Faerûn

Post by Big Mac » Thu Feb 15, 2018 6:06 pm

I just stumbled onto a series of Forgotten Realms articles, called Magic Books of Faerûn. It is by Sean K Reynolds and it looks pretty interesting.

Here is a list of them all: Has anyone ever used these in their game?

I just learned about their existence. The only magic book of the Realms I knew until now was the Book of Tarchamus. :P

There were some really nice magic books in the 1st edition Forgotten Realms campaign setting DM's sourcebook of the Realms.

You had:

Nchaser's Eiyromancia (page 62)
The book of the Silver Talon (page 63)
The Chambeeleon (page 64)
Seven Fingers (The life of Thorstag)(page 65)
The Nathlum (page 65-68)
The Workbook (page 68-71)
Bowgentle's Book (page 71-72)
The Spellbook of Daimos (page 72-74)
Book of Num "the mad" (page 74-76)
Briel's Book of Shadows (page 76-77)
Sabirine's Specular (page 77-80)
Glanvyl's Workbook (page 80-81)
The Red Book of War (page 81-83)
The Alcaister (page 83-85)
Aubayreer's Workbook (page 86-87)
Orjalun's Arbatel (page 87-89)
The Scalamagdrion (page 89-90)
The Tome of the Covenant (page 91-92)
The Tome of the Unicorn (Page 92-94)

Each one of these tomes comes with an "Appearance" section, a "History and Description" section, and a "Contents" section.

There were also some books in the various Pages From The Mages Dragon Magazine articles. Some of those may have been reprinted in 1e and 2e FR boxed sets
