On the other hand,I asked Nathan Stewart on Twitter about their new setting, because he promised "WotC will do something with new settings in 2018" in fireside chat of last year,I specifically asked about "brand new setting".His answer is yes, however, more information will not be revealed until late summer.

Tell us again how "Realms is not the default setting."

Re: New adventure - Waterdeep: Dragon Heist
Wizards of the Coast have a page up for Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. Here is the blurb:
I'm hoping for a sequel in Undermountain...
...and a second sequel in Stardock!
I actually saw this cover on the social media yesterday, but assumed it was a DMs Guild product, as the "W A T E R D E E P" looked so weird to me, that I assumed that WotC would not publish a book with that amount of kerning.dnd.wizards.com wrote:Waterdeep: Dragon Heist

Re: New adventure - Waterdeep: Dragon Heist
WotC are pimping a convention event called Board the Weatherlight, which is yet another Magic: the Gathering cross-over thing, so we might see a full-blown PlaneShift campaign setting book, at some point.sam wrote: ↑Sat Jun 02, 2018 2:44 amOn the other hand,I asked Nathan Stewart on Twitter about their new setting, because he promised "WotC will do something with new settings in 2018" in fireside chat of last year,I specifically asked about "brand new setting".His answer is yes, however, more information will not be revealed until late summer.

Re: New adventure - Waterdeep: Dragon Heist
Back during the D&D Next launch, WotC had Ed Greenwood on their Sundering panel and they said that they were going to get Forgotten Realms right, before moving onto other settings.
So they kind of are not doing anything they didn't say they would do.
It's more people over-hyping every link to other settings and claiming that WotC are bringing them back that is causing fans to get disappointed, in my opinion. (I went around telling people that Tome of Foes was not going to be a Spelljammer product, after seeing the wave of sharebait hype pushing that theory. The original dude on Google+ never claimed Spelljammer was coming back.)
I'm content to be happy for the Forgotten Realms fans, and to wonder if I can use this book to tie-into Waterdeep's connections to Realmspace.

Re: New adventure - Waterdeep: Dragon Heist
Wait, isn't Volothamp human? How the hell did he survive the 100+ year time-skip? He was middle-aged in the 1360's. Did he get put in stasis? Or did they just do the "here's my new PC. He's identical in every way to my PC that just died; its my old PC's twin brother"? Is he really an elf pretending to be a buffoonish human wizard of low power?
The adventure itself looks somewhat interesting, if only that the concept is different. Levels 1-5 worries me in that there won't be much 'meat' to this one, and the $50 price tag is a bit steep without knowing how it plays out. I'd expect a "heist" adventure to involve a bit higher level PCs, in the 8-10 range. 1-5 kinda makes me think "OK, you guys are the distraction and grunts for this named NPC, who will be the real star of the adventure."

Ed Greenwood said he had a convincing argument about why Volo is still alive. So far, he has said nothing about it, though.

Dunno about Stardock
Sequel in Undermountain, granted:

I actually like these two books, their taste smells like FR,I hope they stay this way and only add the appropriate updates.I just scared to see more generic products with FR icings.
