I will get my trail maps (8 miles per hex) and continental maps (24 miles per hex) done at some point, but you know the drill... I don't want to have to correct things multiple times, so I want to finalise the updated maps first.

So it's not a new map, although I seem to be back in the grind now so the floodgates have hopefully been pried open again - if only a little.

That's certainly a possibility... But again, the keyword is "rash", and I don't think remaking JTR's maps would be rash at all.

Much closer, but it's not nearly that expensive. I'm still hoping to buy Adobe Creative Suite 4, but it probably won't be until the summer.

Some more hints: it's rash because I've considered buying it before, but decided it was too expensive. The reason I've bought it now is because the yen is so high against the pound (less than 70% of what it was about a year ago) that the price has fallen dramatically. (But not so dramatically as to make it a bit of a rash purchase...)

Okay, let's collect the clues so far:

1. It's something I've bought.
2. Buying it was perhaps rather rash.
3. On the other hand, "It's high time, too." High time I bought it? Perhaps high time we, as a community, have it?
4. Unnecessary hints are a hint unto themselves.
5. Generally speaking, "It is the ultimate in authenticity." For our community, anyway.
6. Hervé thought it was a domain name...
7. That wasn't right, but it may well be digital.
8. Fact is, I'm not going to tell you in until someone guesses it!
9. Expensive, but not nearly as expensive as Adobe CS4.
10. "Inline". I can't be any more specific without giving the whole game away.
11. Now the pound is so low that I was able to buy it. Notice that I said "pound" - therefore I bought it from a UK company.
12. Examine the posts I've made lately. You may have seen it already.

Either a new, hi-res scanner, or you bought some (all?) Mystara-similar fonts.

You bought Feinen inline - I do see it on several of the maps you -ahem- pointed us to. Funny thing that. I didn't realize how expensive those fonts were until I did a little research into them (Feinen especially) a few weeks ago. Why was I looking at Feinen a few weeks ago? Because after reading through Thorf's Font FAQ I realized that was the font they used for a majority of the Gaz maps... the ultimate font to have in map making
