It seems to be working again now, at least for me. Please go and check out the new Northern Iciria replica maps.

http://mystara.thorf.co.uk/updated-pdf/ ... hule-8.pdf seems to be a corrupted file. If you have any tools to compare your offline files to your online files, it might be prudent to do so (your web host might be experiencing some bit rot).

It was probably a failed upload, because the file was 5.9 MB whereas it should be 9.2. I'm re-uploading it now.

Notice: I've been having problems connecting to my site for the past couple of days. It has responded sporadically but appears to be down most of the time. I'm looking into it, and hopefully connectivity will be restored soon.

Question for anyone reading this: can you get to my site? It seems that my provider has no problems accessing it, and indeed I've found I can get to it through my mobile phone, but not from my home or work Internet connections.

Please let me know if you can see the image below:

I can see the image just fine Thorf.

EDIT: I'm at work now. I'll try from home later tonight.

Large images from your wiki download at good speeds; none seem to be missing.

My Internet provider is going to do a server move in the next few days, which will likely knock my site offline for a few days (or perhaps longer). Everything should be back up and running within a week or two of it going down.

As of now, the Atlas of Mystara wiki is down, and I am unable to determine the cause of the problem. It's not looking good.

It's gone from bad to worse. While trying to sort things out, I got an error which somehow resulted in the whole images folder for the wiki being zapped. :(

At this point I think I am going to have to call it quits and give up on the wiki. Even if I can get it working again, all the images will have to be re-uploaded. It may well be easier just to start again with a new wiki.

I think perhaps I need to find a better way of providing my Mystara maps.

Thorf, I can offer a couple of ideas... all of them involve a little bit of work to put together but can be done relatively easily once the initial setup is done.

I can put together a WordPress theme for it or a css/html setup for it, that you can host (or I can host). WordPress might be easier because you can have multiple users levels, allows commenting, and the like. I'll take a quick look at how to the best present it and see what I can cobble together.

May I recommend dokuwiki? It has none of that SQL nonsense to deal with ;)

Are you saying that SQL is not fun? The humanity! Seriously, that's a great solution Ashtagon.

The other prospect would be set up a Google Sites or series of Google Drive materials for it.

SQL wasn't the problem. I think it was actually a problem caused by running out of space on the server, which corrupted the Wiki installation.

At this stage, I don't have the time to set everything up again as a Wiki — and let's face it, it was still in the early stages anyway — so a much simpler gallery system seems much more realistic.

On the other hand, I see that Adobe's sharing options have advanced somewhat. You can actually access all of my Mystara files through this link: http://adobe.ly/1TiBJ3S

Great news! :D

I was able to repair the Wiki software side of things by applying the next update when it became available. That fixed all the problems on the software side.

I then decided to bite the bullet and manually re-upload all of the images. I have just finished doing this, which means that all the images should be working once again. None of the previous versions will be available for download, but I'm not going to go through deleting their entries. There doesn't seem much point, really. The comments included in the old entries should at least let you know what changed between old versions and the newest one, so they're not totally useless.

What does this mean? The Atlas of Mystara Wiki is once again open for browsing and development. :D I've started the process of deleting the old, out of date copies of maps on my site (those available through the old interface at mystara.thorf.co.uk). The latest versions will always be published through the wiki, since it allows me to add a short explanation of what was changed.

There's still a ton of work to be done on the wiki itself, of course. For this, I will definitely need assistance if anyone is interested.

Thorf - many thanks for re-uploading those maps! I appreciate that it would have taken some time to do all of that.

What is it you need help with? I don't have time right now, but in a few months (ie Jan/Feb) I might. I'm a little familiar with working with Wikimedia at Wikipedia and (somewhat less so) with dokuwiki at the Cyclopedia Mystara. It looks like your using wikimedia, but since mostly it involves uploading your files I'm not sure what others can help with.

The biggest problem really is the lack of a cohesive vision on my part for what the Wiki should eventually aim to be. What I really need to do is work that out, and then plan how to get there, preferably building up gradually over time in a number of different stages. I don't want to do stuff now that becomes obsolete or gets in the way later.

Perhaps I should start a thread about this so we can do some brainstorming.
