So the caves in hills (and mountains) still is bugging me. Does this look better?

I'm thinking the caves need something now though... maybe to be bigger?

Weird I can see them. I added a hyperlink to the image so you can access it. You can also view them this way: https://sites.google.com/site/birchbeermaps/

And scroll through the attachments. I also created overlays for Minotaurs and Dragonborn/Lizard Men.

I think the cave is too small, which makes it hard to spot on a map. IMO, caves would be better off as an overlay rather than a type of terrain.

I'll see what I can whip up in the morning... I think the overlay Idea is great though... it would be applicable to all terrain then :)

There's another cave symbol, which I prefer to this one. It's an old symbol, originally included in the very first Expert Set if I remember right. It should be in my files somewhere.

Edit: Here you are.

And you can find the PDF here.

Many thanks Thorf... so here is the new icon:

I think it works pretty good. I might just use that to represent all caves. Though if an overlay is wanted I should be able to strip out the color (but I don't believe it'll look good over existing hills or mountains).

I took the liberty and redid them in greater resolution:

I've done some additional gimp hexes too here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4FkxR ... sp=sharing
they are the underwater icons, a battle icon and three more for good and bad fairies (one is a fairy, the other an harpy..)
Not entirely sure that I named them right however...
