Looking good, but it seems a bit off at the bottom. Given the differing scales, however, there's a lot of fudge room.

It is quite a bit off on the southern shoreline. The differing scales do give us a bit of a fudge factor, but not really that much. I could go for modifying the shorelines within a 3 8mph area, but we have almost double that near the southern tip.

One thing I could do is shift some of the terrain (and other features) in Sturm's map so that it lines up better with Thorf's shorelines. Once all of the terrain is filled in, I don't think it will be all that noticeable (at least at a glance). Any thoughts?

I think that's probably the best option. I don't think there's too much terrain variation in that part of the world, so filling in a 4-5 hex wide gap should be fine.

I've updated the map - the terrains in the northern regions are mostly done. They match up pretty well with 72mph map, so I don't think any changes are needed there. I do have one question about the terrain near the string of volcanoes. The terrain icons look like black sands. Are they supposed to be "black sands" like in Ethengar, or should they be volcanic terrain?

Once we get to terrain near the three pronged river in the center of the map, then some terrain needs to be shifted. The mountain range to the south should shift to the west. The shift should also open up the Korva Plains, making it much wider (which also is more in line with the 72 mph map).

There also appears to be a swamp on the 72 mph map (along that same river) that is missing on the more detailed map.

Yep - there should be a swamp there. Looking great, as usual!

What about the black sands terrain, are those really black sands or should they be volcanic terrain? Sturm, what was the original intent?

The next update will contain the terrain shift and added swamp.

Well I completely missed this thread till now, anyway here is the last updated map of the Izonda-Pelatan region that I already posted:
http://digidownload.libero.it/Halag/ima ... elatan.jpg
I used Kal's map here and it has some differences in the shape of the rivers in the south with the first I used, made I think by Thibault:

The terrain in southern Izonda, region of Anada, I think is meant to me volcanic/obsidian terrain, but I don't know what set of hexes was used..
bye
