4E Blackmoor: How Is It?

Postby Angel Tarragon » Fri May 12, 2017 3:41 am

I may have the opportunity to pick it up on the cheap....so I have some questions.

How does it hold up to the lore of Blackmoor? How does this incarnation of the setting [change and/or] build upon past material?
What has changed? What, if anything, is new in this incarnation of the setting?
How is the timeline handled?
And, overall, what is your opinion of it?

Did a bit of digging. You might find this thread of use, Angel:

Is 4e Blackmoor good for a newcomer to Blackmoor?, and its companion thread over at the Comeback Inn.

I was about to point you to the same posts. :P

As for new stuff introduced, are the 4e new stuffs. Dragonborn, tieflings, and the rules (at-will powers and that). Aside from rules, the new stuff is introduced organically (the people who did this learned from the 4e Forgotten Realms fiasco, it seems). It's compatible with the 3.x material (even backwards compatible if you only take lore stuff).
