I've posted some pictures on the Castle that was the inspiration for Blackmoor Castle over on my blog:

Great pics, Havard! That model looks well done too.

One of the things that this reminded me about is that we have a tendency in D&D to make all the castles too large. Most should be on the smaller scale so that the large ones are truly seen as impressive. That's my thoughts anyway. :ugeek:

Thanks! I didnt assemble the model for the record ;)

I had been looking for this for a while, but had some trouble finding the name for it.

Probably right. I have always imagined Blackmoor Castle to be a bit larger, though I have always associated it with the one on the cover of Supplement II.

Have you considered what modifications might need to be made to the Kibri kit to make it look more like the castle on Supplement 2?

It would look a lot more like the Supplement 2 cover if you...

Paint it Black! ;)

I see a red orc and I want it painted black
No colors any more, I want them to turn black
I see the orcs walk by, dressed in their dungeon clothes
I have to swing my flail until their dark blood flows

I see a line of mercs and they're all painted black
With fauchard and my voulge both never to come back
I see peasants turn their heads and quickly run away
From a new-hatched dragon, it just happens every day

I look inside my keep and see my hearth is black
I see my red orc I must have it painted black
Maybe then I'll cast a spell and not have to brace my axe
It's not easy mapping when your whole world is black

No more will my gray keep go turn a deeper hue
I could not foresee Blackmoor finished in my youth
If I look hard enough into the setting sun
My glaive will hack with me before your mourning's done

I see a portcullis and I want it painted black
No colors any more, I want them to turn black
I see the ghosts walk by, dragging their ball and chains
I have to turn undead before they freeze my veins

Hmm, hmm, hmm,..

I wanna see it painted, painted black
Black as night, black as coal
I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted black

Yeah!
