Antalian Wastes Campaign Ideas

I'm trying to come up with ideas for a campaign that combines the following parts of the Hollow World:
  • Antalian Wastes/Antalian Coast
  • Beastman Wastes
  • Antalian Frost Giant Jarldoms
  • Icevale Elves
Monsters
BECMI: White Ape, Polar Bear, White Dragon, Gold Dragon, Werewolf, Werebear, Direwof, Frost Giant, Snow Ape, Crystal Dragon, Werefox, Wereseal, Wolf, Colddrake, Sasquatch, Actaeon, Animal Heard (Goat, Elk, Caribou, Moose), Giant Ferret, Pixie, Sprite, Giant Weasel, Bear, Gnome, Dryad (Huldr), Nixie (Nökk),Troll (Arctic)

Mysteries
What are things to explore in the Antalian Wastes?
  • Lost Blackmoor City - because every Mystara campaign needs some kind of Blackmoor connection. This could be a remnant of Blackmoor era explorations into the HW. I see it as something similar to the Dwemer complexes of Skyrim.
  • Ancient Antalian Structures - A castle made from Ice Crystals, Gigantic Rune-stones,
  • Beastman Caves - underground complexes where Beastmen go to become one with primal rage.
  • Wooly Mamoth Graveyard
  • Icevale Relic - Do the Icevale have something equivalent of the Tree of Life/Frond of Life?
  • Tombs of the Immortals - Special sites dedicated to Wotan, Donar, Lokar, Fredar and Fredara

  • Cleric (May have access to Runes per Gaz7)
  • Fighter
  • Thief
  • Magic-User
  • Druid
  • Dwarf (Kogolor)

What are other ideas for adventures in this part of the Hollow World?

That sounds cool! Is Nyx the patroness of the HW Beastmen? I could see a lost Temple of Hel there too, but I dont think the majority of the Beastmen in the HW follow Hel.

Hey Havard, have you done anything with this campaign? It sounds like a lot of fun.

You know... what if your group of Antalians are explorers, set out to find new lands to plunder and colonize, but after passing through some terrible storm they find themselves in a strange new world with a black sky and stars, and a sun that comes and goes. Kind of a twist on the normal PC's find the Hollow World story.

My upcoming campaign will be set in the Outer World, but I am still tinkering with this concept.

The idea of HW characters finding their way to the OW is pretty cool and would fit well with Antalians. Heck, one could even have reports of earlier explorers having discovered this route and the PCs having to retrack the expedition?

I have always been fascinated with the question of what separates the Antalians from the peoples of the Northern Reaches. Antalians seem to be a more mythic version of Vikings somehow.

I always equate the Antalians with the real-world Merovingian(?) culture and history. They are still 'Germannic' and are transitioning from the Germannic tribal culture to the Viking culture that we commonly associate with today. This would allow some of the Late Roman Germannic traditions and culture to mix in with the Viking ways. I'm not an expert on it.

It would a strange mixture of Germannic and Nordic. At least from my understanding.
