Which is your favorite SC Country?

Post by Havard » Sat Feb 07, 2009 10:26 am

Which Savage Coast nation or region is your favorite? Polls only allow 10 options so I had to leave a few out, but feel free to use the "other" option and specify which one you like the most. Also, I encourage people to explain why they like that specific country.

I haven't set up a poll in a while, so I figured it was time for a new one :)

I have to go with Herath. I just loved the idea of a nation of aranea. It gives you all kinds of good ideas

Never having played in the SC, I'd have to say my favorite (thus far) are the Baronies--setting of the Black Vessel novel.

Likewise. I first read it a couple of months ago, but it helped my to "get" the setting in a much clearer way than before. I'd love to see a follow-up to that novel.

Of course, my favourite character in the official write-ups has to be Sir John of the Wain, Duke of Cimarron. :)

Savage Baronies for me...especially the landlocked ones like Guadalante. The Gauchos appeal to me. Where else in D&D can you play a cowboy? :)

I've always considered Dunwick (does that count as an "other"?) to be the Savage Coast's Casablanca and I've had a soft spot for it and imagined all sorts of Casablanca-themes for it. Toss in a Heldannic Knights presence and I'd have a reason to throw in Rick's Cabaret. ;) I wished it had a larger presence in the books. But I do love the Savage Baronies, especially Cimarron.

Speaking of Dunwick, I was thinking last night that given the name and its similarities to Dunwich ("The Dunwich Horror"), that it might be interesting to add some horror elements there. Perhaps something involving the tortles/snappers and a Dagon-like progenitor (a la, "Shadows Over Innsmouth"). ;)

My other vote was for Dunwick, I liked the tortles story and it's more open feel made it more appealing for me too. Of course Herath is a close second.
