SC and Davania

Post by Havard » Mon Sep 14, 2009 8:19 pm

How much contact is it natural to assume there could be between SC and northwestern Davania? Could various SC nations have established colonies there?

What about historically? Could early SC populations like Oltecs, Nithians, Huleans, Traladarans etc have found their way across the Izonan Deep? What about the other way? (We already know about the elves ofcourse).

This is a very interesting topic.

I think it's very likely in fact, and some of our recent work on the Sea of Dread region might suggest so as well. I can see the coastlines of Izondia being much closer with those of southern Brun (especially on the Arm of the Immortals region). It's very likely that travel and commerce occurred in both directions.

Garganin is a Hulean colony in the Milenian region. So, some amount of interaction has been going on. The only reason why there aren't more baronial colonies in northern Davania is that the baronies haven't been around enough.

Agreed. My old writeup of the Adakkian Sound region might be very appropriate from AC 1030 onwards - assuming the baronies still exist by then.

Indeed. That write-up was very good, and the idea of setting it at AC 1030 or so is very appealing.
