PurpleWorm forums on lockdown - why?

I saw something interesting on a forum called PurpleWorm, but got an error message when I tried to register:

Does anyone know what is going on with this forum? It looks like some people are still posting. Is it closed for maintenance?

Since I am already registered there, I posted a question about this on their forums a few days ago, but no response yet :/

There are alot of neat resources on that website. If the site is gradually becoming abandoned, it might be a good idea to grab the stuff ASAP.

Hopefully I am wrong though and the owners will get back to the site soon.

I'd take a wild guess that it might be related to spam accounts from a certain piece of software that shall remain nameless.

Perhaps they didn't notice.

Would you be able to send a PM to someone in the moderator team?

It's been that way for quite some time. I went to join several times over the last few months, I assumed they didn't want new members.

Hi guys.

While yes I do have mod powers there I'm rarely on the site (drop in every once and a while to check on it). I haven't seen Northwest around for quite some time.

Also as a mod not admin, no acess to the admin panel.

Thanks Will!

Do you know if there is any way of contacting Northwest? I hope the PurpleWorm website itself won't suddenly disappear overnight. I understand that running a forum can be pretty hard work, especially fighting off spammers. I think the website is a great resource for 2nd Ed gamers though.

Thanks for the additional information. I can't imagine them not actually wanting to have new members. It must be what Ashtagon said.

Thanks Willmark.

I thought that someone in the PurpleWorm admin team might have a private way to contact the owner or another administrator (if there are other administrators).

Would you be able to send Northwest a PM or ask the forum to send Northwest an email, next time you pop over?

There is no reply to your Piazza folks asking about Purpleworm.org topic Havard.

Would you mind sending a PM to Northwest...or maybe an email, if the forum does that...to ask him how I can get an account there?
