The Lost Shrine of Bundushatur

Post by Havard » Sun Jul 08, 2018 11:05 pm

Anyone know more about this AD&D 2nd Ed adventure (from the RPGA series)?

From what I understand, it is a dungeon crawl adventure ffor levels 8-10 and deals with the Dwarves of Isar. Is this adventure connected to any specific setting? Is it connected to other products, like the Axe of the Dwarvish Lords?

Does it offer any insight that might be useful for dwarf oriented campaigns in any setting?

The module also mentions the Lords of Chaos. Any idea who those might be?

PS: I could have sworn this module is already mentioned somewhere on The Piazza, but my google-fu was too weak today :(

I wonder if I could use this adventure on Reorx (one of the celestial bodies in Krynnspace that is dominated by dwarves and gnomes).

There is a page for The Lost Shrine of Bundushatur at The Book-House on The Piazza. Maybe you saw that. :?

They are a group of vaguely Moorcockian CN powers, described in the adventure itself.

Connected to the Far Realm/Nightmare Dimension perhaps?

Not likely. At the end of the adventure there are planar portals to the domains of the Lords of Chaos, but these are rather different from the Far Realm, and even more from the Nightmare Dimension.
It seems more likely that the adventure's author was referring to his own cosmology (obviously one strongly influenced by Moorcock, complete with concept such as "Champions"). For example, several monsters in the adventure are Tanar'ri (demons), but the Lords of Chaos are explicitly Chaotic Neutral.
