Sea Kingdoms

Weird red metals, dominions, immortals, hollow planets, invisible moons, and a lot of glorified magic zeppelins. It's all here.

Are the Sea Kingdoms Islands? Or underwater countries or really there is no information about this and I can put anything my imagination says?

AFAIK there is no official information on them. I always imagined them to be undersea realms similar to the lands described in PC3 The Sea People, as Robin mentions. But there could certainly be small island kingdoms all over the planet as well. Or whatever you can come up with :)

So it would be a good place to put an island or a group of islands.

In this map, I can see someone put islands http://pandius.com/Mystara72mphclear.png
Masters Map doesn't show anything there http://classic.mystara.net/images/OW.png you could say that if there are islands they are much smaller than ierendi and mintoth islands.

Not necessarily. Recent mapping trends seem to indicate that there is far more ocean on the far side of the world than was supposed in the Master Set map. The "sea kingdoms" may in fact be entire continents!

Checking those maps I think that there is space on mystara to do things but I don't think is that big enough. But still, there can be a lost continent and several chains of islands. More projects for the future.

I'd like the idea of the Sea Kingdoms to be both a M-Polynesian-like culture spread in many islands and an area of Underwater cultures, with land dwellers and sea dwellers considering themselves part of the same kingdom and able to visit both places.
Obviously the plural means there is more than one kingdom, so you can have one inhabited by humans and merrows, another by humans and kopru, another by ogres and sea giants, and so on, with a big number of possible variations.

Check the Sea Hermit entry in the Savage Coast Monstrous Compendium Appendix for some info on deep sea nations.

Good find! It seems they could be located in the seas below the Savage Coast, but some could live in the Sea Kingdoms as well, as we do not have any canon info on the latter.

Also I did this map linked above (http://pandius.com/Mystara72mphclear.png). My version takes into account Thorf's ideas about the size of the ocean but not as far as having it as big as an entire emisphere. It's a sort of compromise between the Master set map and a possible projection.
I placed the islands which appear in the above map totally randomly, imagining a region of coralline and volcanic islands like RW Polynesia.

Seconding Sturm's sentiment. This is a great find! Sea Hermits are indeed not limited to the Savage Coast seas. They are also linked to Jorries and Echyans. I dont think any of these are exclusively linked to the Savage Coast. Are there other sea related creatures there as well? Has anyone compiled a list of all BECMI water based or undersea creatures and races?

I am just imagining a lizard men island culture where part of its kingdom is an island and part underwater. At the island, they mount dinosaurs ñaca ñaca. Maybe adapting tar to salt water and finishing my old work here because I don't see where it can be put in Skotar http://pandius.com/blckmoor.html

I suggest that any good mapper venture create a map to fill in.

Something like this would be good to get an idea, same as most suggest.

That doesn't sound like it would be too out of place somewhere near/along the Serpent Peninsula, actually.
