Classic D&D / Mystara Products with Cards

Weird red metals, dominions, immortals, hollow planets, invisible moons, and a lot of glorified magic zeppelins. It's all here.

Classic D&D / Mystara Products with Cards

Post by Havard »

Related Threads: D&D 5E Cards,D&D 4E Cards, AD&D 2nd Ed Cards, Dragonlance Cards, Mystara/Classic D&D Cards, Pathfinder / Starfinder Cards

I've been doing these all over, but figured I would do something for Mystara as well:

AD&D Mystara Decks
  • Deck of Magical Items (Mystara Dungeon Master's Kit)
  • Deck of the Spheres (Mystara Dungeon Master's Kit)
  • Mystara Fame & Fortune Cards (Mystara Player's Survival Kit)
Classic D&D Rule Cards
  • D&D Black Box Rulecards
D&D Animated Series Game Cards
  • D&D Animated Series Play Cards (In Spanish Only) - details here

Any other cards related to Mystara or Classic D&D that could be included here?

Do you count DragonStrike as a Mystara product? There were character cards in there.

I'll go check in inventory in a few minutes and see if I've got anything else out there.

Nice one!

I would like to include it. I would rather include more than risk leaving anything out. Even if its connection to Mystara is contested, the game is clearly based on the Classic D&D rules, which means it is allowed under the heading of this thread.

In the early 1990s, TSR was offering collectible trading cards that featured artwork and stats for various NPCs, monsters, locations and items. The 1992 GenCon exclusive Promotional Trading Card set featured eleven trading cards which promoted all of their current games and settings at the time. The one card in that set that is of interest here is Card #6, featuring an 11th level fighter for BECMI/RC D&D with the name Brandt Esragoph. As far as I know, it was the only D&D card from all of those sets.

I think one of the cards also features the guy from the covers of WotI? I have some of these cards at home. I can check later.

There are hero cards in all 3 of the "big box" mid-92 games (Dragon's Den, Haunted Tower, Goblin's Lair) that stat out the pre-gen PC's. Note that these are different than the punch-out paper standups to be used in lieu of figures.

Do you count the ship stat cards from Champions of Mystara? Or b/c they're full-sized cardstock sheets they're not technically "cards"?

What about the Character & Monster Assortment from the cave-mouth modules? Mine's still in shrink, so I don't want to crack it just to check.

Are you counting the punch-out paper 'standups' that came with a bunch of the early-90s boxes / modules? If so, then there's a bunch of others.

The Classic D&D box set released in '94 I believe had stand up characters and creatures. Thou not specifically Known World or Mystara related is classic D&D. Also had the map for Zanzer Tems dungeon.

Havard had already mentioned the big black box in the original post :)

I am still going through the AD&D Trading Cards, but one of the Ravenloft ones features Meredoth, so he should also count as a Mystara character IMHO.
