[Thorn's Chronicle Crunch]: Play-by-post interest?

IF....

If I were to maybe run a play-by-post, to be set in Thorn's Mystara, would anyone be interested? I have a few ideas, but would like to see what sort of interest is out here before I go developing any of them.

I'm interested, especially if its set in any of the Blackmoor related eras.

Also, the Karameikos BC thing sounds interesting...

I'd be very interested in giving it a try. I'm not into Karameikos so much. I LOVE Glantri, and would like to explore some other cultures, too.

Glantri might be very interesting. I have not even begun fleshing out that part of Thorn's Mystara. It is the home of the Flaemish sect of Alphatian exiles, and at least part of the culture is heavily influenced by Robert Jordan's Seanchan... (see: Seraphina and Saoirse, the two weavers from the Rise of the Winter King arc of the Chronicle)

I'm also interested! I love exploring an alternate version of Mystara, and I think that Thorn's Mystara is a very intriguing place. It's familiar... but different enough that I'm sure there will be plenty of surprises for me as well.

Is Last Days of Blackmor a sci fi setting or Post Apoc?

It would be what I'd call "magitech." Sci-fi with some magical set-dressing. The war front would be very much military sci-fi, whereas the urban stuff would be somewhat Blade Runner-noir. Most likely, this would be run using the Alternity system.

This, for me, is the most enjoyable part of the project: taking the familiar and giving it a bit of a twist, so it's same-but-different, but not what would be expected from those who know the setting/modules....

Wow, that sounds amazing! Not that I'm familiar with the Alternity rules, but I'd be willing.

Alternity was TSR/WoTC's generic sci-fi game that got mothballed to make way for d20 and the Star Wars license. You can find the Fast Play PDF rules (which outline the general mechanics and "feel' for the game, in Sci Fi and Modern Conspiracy flavors.

Thanks. So, I'd be interested in this Alternity SciFi pbp, and/or a Mystaran D&D pbp!

Looks like Last Days of Blackmoor are pretty popular. Hmmm... I'm thinking (if we were to start a game up in this era), it might be kind of fun to play a young enthusiast of the technomantic arts by the name of Rafiel...

Interesting. I would assume that Rafiel (Or John Rafiel as he is referred to in some fan material on that Era) would be pretty acknowledged in his field at the time of the actual disaster, but this game could occur maybe as much as a decade earlier?

Perhaps some of the other characters too would likely be descendants of famous Blackmoor NPCs or ancestors of some of the Mystara characters who can track their lineage back to Blackmoor, such as one of the Drachenfels family?

Havard, would it be better to host anything Blackmoor related at the Comeback Inn? This would most likely be way outside Rafe's "Company of the Maiden" continuity.....
