Here's a post that works for
D&D 3e/
Skull & Bones and
Pathfinder/Freeport--a system for cooperative spellcasting.

I don't think I followed how the assisstant's levels add to the "effective metamagic levels":
In the given example:
6 lvl 1's and a lvl 4 are assisting. they add 3 effect's: Enlarge (+1), Widen (+3), & Heighten (+2) which totals +6. According to the table, the lvl 4 character can give +2. The level 1's individually don't add anything since the smallest value on the table is lvl 2, so I'm presuming you add them together (so lvl 6 which would be +3), but that only comes to a total of +5, not the needed +6
also, a question- do one of the casters need the relevant metamagic feats?

Thanks for the feedback, Gecko. I don't think the supporting casters should be required to have the relevant feats, although I could see requiring a feat like Cooperative Casting to allow such activity.
Today's post includes an interlude that details a hidden treasure cache.
