D20 Bard Supplements?

Post by Angel Tarragon » Thu Sep 30, 2010 11:00 pm

I'd like to move forward with getting my Spellsinger (a modified bard) class for Sarunia hammered out. What are the best D20 bard supplements to draw inspiration from?

Many people seemed to like Monte Cook's Books of Eldritch Might. Also, the way EverQuest d20 worked was kind of neat, but far too crunch diet for me.

I was playing a goblin bard for a while and looked for material but never found a supplement that had much of interest. The Grand OGL Wiki has the OGL content from the The Quintessential Bard I and II. The Quintessential series has done rather poorly in reviews and I've never found enough interest to buy them when I looked them over. The only thing I ended up buying for my bard was the Complete Arcane book. The Seeker of the Song prestige class was what I was interested in. It gives the bard more songs to do various things. I also like the Sublime Chord which is a bard that focuses more on spellcasting.

The original 3e Song and Silence book on bards and rogues has some nice ideas.

You might get more response by 3e experts if this thread was in the 3rd Edition forum. I will ping the local moderator and suggest this thread is moved.

Complete Scoundrel has some addtional ideas to help develop bard characters.
My hat's off to the 'freaks.' Whenever I see their post counts, I feel like a go-cart at the Indy 500.

Thanks for all the advice. Right now I'm looking to expand the number of Bardic Performances for my Spellsingers. Which supplements are best at providing good options in this regard?
