Martial Power 2 vs. Psionic Power?

Post by Angel Tarragon » Tue Nov 01, 2011 6:54 am

Much good is Martial Power 2, is there anything in it that is evocative or interesting beyond the obvious crunch?

On the flip, how does Psionic Power compare to MP2?

As all things D&D, it depends upon one’s campaign.

Martial Power 2 includes a chapter of martial options that includes two new background developing systems, Combat Styles and Martial Practices. The Martial Options chapter also includes a well done section on the Martial Outlook of characters of the martial power source. As other power books, it includes new builds, class features, powers, paragon paths, epic destinies and feats.

If one is interested in a Dark Sun campaign, Psionic Power is the one power book that one should really have about. Somewhat like Martial Power 2, Psionic Power includes a chapter on Psionic Options that further develops psionic power source characters, with philosophies, orders, an origin of psionics, character backgrounds, racial backgrounds, psionic bloodlines and psionic magic items. As other power books, it includes new builds, class features, powers, paragon paths, epic destinies and feats.

Both books have a very great number of ideas to bring unique characters to life, as well as an excellent assortment of well thought-out additions to the builds, features, powers, paragon paths and epic destinies of characters.
