Gamma World with Numenara items mechanics anyone?

A wacky, wily game of postapocalyptic peril.

Gamma World with Numenara items mechanics anyone?

Gamma World, after the initial fun of creating your character, often becomes a "scavenging" game, where you have to make the most of relics form previous civilizations that you can find. This is exactly the focus of Numenara (by Monte Cook), where there are plenty of interesting rules related to scavenging ancient technological items and re-using them creatively for your advantage.

Has anybody thought about mashing up these two systems and using Numenara items mechanics in a Gamma World game? I think it might be interesting.

Interesting idea. Numenera item rules are not so complex as to be difficult to port. They might work well on a different game.

while the cyphers may be somewhat gamma esque the characters are not sadly. You have to stretch the imagination quite a bit to get the more gonzo gamma mutants. however something like fallout could be done without much stretching.

The Cypher System book is cheaper than buying Numenera, so I would suggest getting that instead.
