[Lejendary Adventure] Hall of Many Panes for Planescape?

Post by Tim Baker » Sat Jul 28, 2018 11:15 pm

I just came across an auction for Gary Gygax's Hall of Many Planes. It was written for Lejendary Adventure, but has stats for d20. Has anyone read this? Run it? Would it be of any value in a Planescape campaign?

Why so it is.

Still, reading the description, each pane sounds like it transports the party to some sort of plane or demiplane. So I'm still curious to hear if it would be worth picking up and potentially tying into Planescape.

Indeed Panes not Planes. Still a great find. I like the concept of teleporting panes. Fifty-one adventures is way too much for me but I'm stealing the idea to put in a dungeon. A single hexagonal room the leads to five other mini-dungeons would be interesting.

I remember thinking about an adventure like this way back when I saw Conan II as a kid and Conan’s had to smash all those now mirrors to kill that wizard/creature. Not the same, but it led me down this path of thinking.

Yeah it’s a great adventure concept.

Fifty one adventures? :o

How much detail does each individual adventure have?

The article says the box came with 4 books. Its a campaign box using «arabian night» concept of stories within one story. The party as to complete the 51 adventures to finish the greater mission. The adventures of the first book are very detailed - module like. From my understanding there are less detailed as you progressed from one book to the other. For people who liked Gygax's style this could be a treasure trove of unique stories, side-treks and synopsis.

I read the thread title as "Hall of How Many Panes for Planescape". Figured it was some sort of guessing game.
