Exactly!

When I ran a BECMI campaign back in college, I used diabolus adventurers regularly as a hook to get PCs to start thinking about other planes and dimensions. I don't know if them guys ever quite figured out what the diaboli were. Also used the various demons a number of times as adversaries for high level characters.

I used notions once. Set the PCs on a race for a powerful crystal ball against a party of bad guys consisting of a wizard and a number of high level humanoids (I loved the humanoid rules in The Orcs of Thar). The character's were all in the early Companion levels. The finale of the quest was both parties barging into the room in the temple where the ball was kept. The crystal ball was surrounded by flying gray and white "nets" of various sizes, notions of all flavors. When the parties made a dash for the item, they were "attacked" by the notions and all kinds of confusion and hilarity ensued. One of the best was when the PC's tank, a fighter named Breaker Draft who was a badass with the voulge, and his foil, an armored troll, cuddled up in the middle of the floor sobbing and trying to outdo each other's stories about the women that had left them. When I had the troll claim he ate all the time to drown his broken heart, Kevin (Breaker's player) had to top it and it went down hill from there!

With the rules in 3E for AC changes and touch attacks, this could be especially effective. I'd say a notion's attack would be a touch attack, because if I remember right there was no physical damage associated with a notion's attack, which IMO would make it a touch attack, increasing the likelihood that even a smaller notion would hit and keep the chaos moving that much longer.

Hello again,
I found a few mistakes in the original list. I had stated that monsters such as Flickers, Jumpers and Notions were not included in WotI, which they are.

I also added a second table showing new monsters, exclusive to WotI.

Hope this can be useful!

There might be some in the IM series modules, though I don't recall any off the top of my head.

Balthac (one of the legendary figures of IM2) is identified as a Titan in Wrath of the Immortals: The Immortals' Fury.

Good one! Balthac has been added!

We could speculate that some of the other IM2 legends could have had the same destiny as Balthac, but I guess we don't have anything official confirming that:

I'd almost think that Aurum would have ended up as a Dragon Spirit (Dragon #158), or possibly has been reincarnated as one of Diamond's bodyguards.

Bringing back Balthac is one of the things I like that Allston did. He really did reference a lot of material in WotI.

IM2 also has the Isiidi; Humanoids with inherent fire magic abilities.

Gildesh (Dragon #200, shedu) is a Monster Ruler.

Centaurus (from PC1, father of the centaur race) might also be a Monster Ruler. I'd say it's fairly likely, though never really stated anywhere.

I think they're supposed to be mutated versions of days and years created by Fugit's experiments. Days look like huge (ten feet tall and twenty feet long) cattle and years look like large aardvarks. I think decades and centuries are similar, but larger and carnivorous.
What about the Overlord from the Dragonlord Chronicles?
The Overlord is definitely an Immortal-level creature, since it took the Diamond Dragon to defeat it.
