I got the Green Ronin stuff in a boxed set.

I didn't realise there was so much earlier stuff.

I've never heard the name Sanctuary used for Thieves' World. Is that the name of the planet?

I think that is the name of the planet/world, but I am no expert. I knew about some of the older material, but there was more than I thought it would be when I started looking into it. :)

Sanctuary is the city where the series takes place.

I run a Thieves World discussion group on FB. Lynn Abbey (she is the editor and owner of TW, which is a shared world with many contributing authors) is on it, and it is a great place to go on the upcoming TW return, as well as lots of discussion of old TW products and images of TW covers. :)

https://www.facebook.com/groups/200064170376448/

I have a pdf of an old website (no longer in existence, nor on the wayback machine as far as I can tell). It has ALL of the old stuff, but the book list and the RPG products, graphic novels, and the miscellaneous short stories that appeared in other sources. I will post what I can this week end, and anyone interested in the pdf (it is very large) can PM me. :)

Sanctuary is the name of the city, unless Lynn named it in the Green Ronin products neither the world nor the continent have a name.

A decent review of Chaosium's old Thieves World boxed set.

https://www.blackgate.com/2013/04/18/vi ... ves-world/

It was truly revolutionary for its time. Along with Lankhmar and City-State of the Invincible Overlord, truly the classics of the first wave of city RPG accessories.

Heroes of Olympus
by TFG (Task Force Games)
Now you can relive the adventures of the Argonauts! You, as Hercules, can slay the
hydra! You, as Jason, can brave the crashing rocks with battered ship and crew!
You, as the sorceress Medea, can tempt a Hero's heart! But be careful not to incur
the wrath of the gods."
Heroes of Olympus by TFG (Task Force Games) in Amarillo Texas from 1982 is a
Fantasy Role Playing game, as well as a stand-alone board game with solitaire rules
and scenarios and scenarios and rules for 2 players. Created by veteran gamedesigner
B. Dennis Sustaire, it recreates mythical Greece. The game system covers

campaign rules. Complexity is moderate and game time ranges from two hours for board-game
scenarios to several evenings for campaign play.
Also included is a booklet describing how to combine Heroes of Olympus with the popular RPG
"Thieves World" (a copy of a "Different Worlds" magazine article providing Heroes of Olympus data

Need to add the 1982 Dark Assassin module here. The Blue Camel wasn't published as a formal module---it was just a convention promotional giveaway in 1982.

Allan.

I really liked the first book or two of TW, and while I owned a couple of the others, I don't remember ever completing them. I was very young at the time, and the complexity of the series as it developed was not quite so easy for me to digest or appreciate. I should try picking them up again one of these days (I'll have to find copies again, as I gave them all away long ago).

And, as rip and GMWestermeyer pointed out above, Sanctuary is the city that is the main setting for the series, not the name of the planet.
