This is also a valid idea, but I re-read recently the set for my incoming Threshold magazine article and there is also a Bailiff agent named Sascia :) it is clearly a wink to Lady Sascia of Luln, so really the boxed set could be placed as it is in the region with almost no effort for the DM..
Any other placement could work too. There is also a Otterkin, i.e. a creature like the Jorri of the Savage Coast. Still any other placement beside Luln and vicinity will require some work if the DM intend to connect the region to his campaign.
Ahh! THAT'S where I saw the Otterkin character! I thought I had seen it in one of the Thunder Rift books. I really wanted Otterkin to be a unique (not counting the Jorri) race for Thunder Rift. Dragon's Den isn't really Thunder Rift though...

We all know Dragon's Den is Thunder Rift, they just put in the wrong map. :D

I just cheat and replace the main town and people w/ Melinir... solves all the problems for me.

Interpreted? How do you interpret the "Dimensional Pool" in Escape from TR taking you to "other dimensions" as anything other than dimensional travel? unless you are mistaking dimensional travel for teleporting?
According to the DM's Guide to Immortals, page 8, teleporting is dimensional travel.

"A teleport or dimension door effect opens a pathway across the fourth dimension, allowing the user to bypass the first three dimensions and apparently cross any amount of space in very little time."

I just got a copy of this finally, and was looking over it tonight. In addition to the obvious inferences that Greetland was a renamed Karameikos, and the character of Sascia in the adventure, there is a reference that was obviously missed during the renaming (p. 5 of the Wild Dragon Den adventure):
One potion of giant strength. "This is from the Luln militia stores..."
(Emphasis on Luln mine)

I am not sure why they bothered to rename everything (supposition is that they just wanted something "generic"), but clearly someone went through with an editing pen to try and do it.

EDIT: Found this little nugget, too. (P. 7, Wyrmhaven)
"... single large coin bearing the likeness of a wizard (on a roll of 1 on 1d20 the face is recognized as Bargle, an infamous wizard of the Black Eagle Barony."
Also, a reference to the Five Shires on p.9 of Wyrmhaven.

And a reference to Ylari rugs on p. 9 of League of the Red Serpent.

Boy, they really missed a bunch of these!

Great finds :) So that's definitive proof it was meant for Karameikos.
Really it escape my understanding why TSR ever though a generic could have more appeal, it makes no sense to me. For a DM which uses its own setting or no setting at all it makes no difference while DMs which used Mystara would have bought it, if they could have known.
