Weird!

Seems like a bit of a satirical thing (what with the world map looking a bit like a beefburger and being called Beef's Keep).

But I wonder if it might be possible to raid the world, rename the more cheesy things and have players not even notice that the game was created as an advertising gimmick.

It's a well made PDF. So there is some talent behind Feast of Legends. There must be some good ideas in there.

Most definitely yes. At very first blush it was just a wacky, amusing idea for advertising, but the more I read about it and that people were saying it was actually a decently crafted RPG I became more interested. Reading the PDF, the more I read the more convinced I was that even just as a one-off joke game it HAD to be played. But there IS, truly, an adequate RPG underneath all the dumb advertising propaganda and people would be stupid to not take the underlying game and make a more serious, "real" game/setting out of it - even if it retains some of that dumb advertising underneath.

Please share your thoughts after you've had a chance to give it a try. I'm fascinated to hear how it plays.

I wonder what would happen if KFC felt inclined to put out an RPG game?

It might compete with their dating sim, which is available on Steam.

I remember fast food chains in the 70's & 80's aimed their advertising at children with characters. We still have Ronald McDonald, but some time ago, McD's quit using his support characters like Grimace, Hamburglar & Mayor McCheese. And I can't even recall any Burger King characters besides "the King".

I'd love to see these characters make a comeback, even changed to fit into Wendy's RPG.

Could a Fast Food RPG have been a viable marketing campaign years ago by any of the "big three" burger joints? Or is this RPG the result of our times, brought about by a perfect storm of total saturation of RPGs, predominant gamer culture, and positive mainstream exposure?

The artwork is actually quite exceptional for a “joke” product. It makes me a little resentful actually lol.

In an episode of the Dragon Talk podcast, McDonald's Manager of Culinary Innovation, Chef Michael Haracz, discusses pitching using McDonald's characters in a D&D game. Unfortunately, the McDonald's folks are very conservative with their intellectual property, and he couldn't make it happen.

For a moment, I thought you were having fun with us. Then I remembered it's real.

Edit: Downloaded and played that dating sim. My character died on her first day.
