Free Download: LotFP Hack of Dark Sun

Post by Havard »

13 page document adapting Dark Sun to Lamentations of the Flame Princess. Probably easily adapted to various editions of Classic D&D/Original D&D as well.

I'm not familiar with Lamentations of the Flame Princess. Is it a retro-clone?

Sort of. But the main aim of Lamentations is not to emulate an older edition, but rather to present the authors own vision of a gaming experience. While his game drawns heavily on the 1974 version of D&D, it has alot of modifications, including a skill system. Some have crticized the game for having some art that includes nudity and sexual themes.

I was fortunate enough to meet James Raggi, the author, a few years ago. A really nice guy. :)

Sounds like an alternative world 3rd Edition to me.

Heh, then I am explaining it badly. :)

A simple skill system aside, LotFP is still much closer to OD&D than any later edition of D&D/AD&D.

Also the Grindhouse Edition of LotFP has this awesome cover that just made me have to buy it:
