How useful is Pool of Radiance: Attack on Myth Drannor

Netheril: flying cities, ancient scrolls written on gold leaf, and just a little bit of hubris.

How useful is Pool of Radiance: Attack on Myth Drannor

Post by Big Mac » Fri Feb 09, 2018 8:40 pm

How usefful is Pool of Radiance: Attack on Myth Drannor to Arcane Age gaming?

Does it have any useful information about Myth Drannor, that could be used for earlier eras?

Would the fact that it is a 3rd Edition product help in converting an Arcane Age game to 3e rules?

Not very. I ran a Fall of Myth Drannor game a few years ago. Lasting about a year of real world time, characters started living in the Mythal just after it was raised, and thanks to its anti-aging effects were still around for the Weeping War. Each session was sometimes a year, or a few years of time. I scoured every FR product and article for references to the city/timeperiod in order to create some fun adventures or ideas. As i recall there was not a lot in that book, though the video game had som.e nice magic items.
