Setting some terms

We left our old worlds, each of us. This is it. We can't go any farther. This is The Edge.

Setting some terms

Postby Ashtagon » Sat Apr 24, 2010 9:04 pm

  • piazza world - Old working title for this project. No longer used.
  • The Edge - The name for the campaign setting. Using the traditional TSR/WotC style sheet, this would appear in small caps when used to identify the overall campaign setting. It would also appear as italic text when used as part of a published book/boxset/pdf title.
  • The Edge - The name for a specific region (specifically, the circular depression in the world's main ocean).
  • Thalassa - The planet's name. Mostly used by scholars and sages. In day to day life, most people are more apt to talk about their home town, state, or culture than about the planet.
  • T-xxxx - A shorthand for referring to specific geographical areas (T stands for Thalassa). This may refer either to the analogous RW geographical region, or the analogous RW culture. Hopefully context will disambiguate which is intended. For example, the main northern continent is T-North America.

Good name. Short, snappy, memorable and laden with overtones. Any chance of re-naming the active threads which still have "Piazzaworld" in the title, to avoid confusion?

Good idea. I'll get the Giant Space Hamster onto it. :)

EDIT: All done. :D If you see anything else that says "Piazzaworld" that you think might cause confusion, please use the report post feature, select other and write an explanation that "Piazzaworld should be changed to The Edge" in the comments.
