Wilderlands 40k?

Post by ripvanwormer » Mon Jul 03, 2017 3:44 pm

Has anyone considered using ideas from the timeline of the Warhammer 40,000 Universe to flesh out the cosmic history of the Wilderlands setting? While they're by no means 100% the same, it seems to me that they have elements in common: a space fantasy background, humans, orcs, dwarves, and elves, the idea of an encroaching, corrupting Chaos. What if the Markrabs, for example, were Warhammer-style daemons who attacked the human, Squat, Ork, and Eldar colonies on Ghenrek IV at the dawn of the Age of Strife, reducing the colonists to a primitive state?

And centuries later, when a squad of Space Marines crashed their ship, the Beagle, into the Valley of the Ancients, one of them, Stephen Rocklin, abused his order's gene-seed technology to create disturbing human-frog hybrids...
