ew of Session 12 (Tuesday 24th April 2018)

Players and their characters
Genghisdon with Earendil of Mitra, Cleric of the Light
Kentheconfused and Xandor the Wizard
Bochi playing Alkaia the Amazon Ranger
Dreamteam introducing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO
Icemaiden introducing Thebia, Amazon Paladin of Athena from Highhaven.

Events from 10PM 15/9/4447 - 10:30AM 17/9/4447

Firstly a bit of a recap on Thebia & Clyw’s Sea journey aboard the Betty-Anne including a couple of hooks I was hoping to introduce before we ran out of time.
The journey was long and arduous. Taking 46 days in total, this should give some idea of the undertaking Alkaia is suggesting.
Thebia made the acquaintance of one Maglor, the High Elf Vizier of The Golden Queen newly crowned in Ahyf. She was charged with (and we will assume she did?) delivering a sealed scroll tube to the High Priestess of Athena at Diancecht. For this she receives Inspiration, sorry I forgot to mention that in the rush.
The pair also briefly explored one of the entrances used by the now dead Black Dragon, Matriarx on the Isle of Dread.
Other stuff that they can pass on; The Fingers are most dangerous to pass as The Amiondel, the Elves that delved too deep, are launching raids from their home at Ludgate much to the vexation of Imperial Overlord and World Emperor.

And so onto the night’s action.
Landing at Targnol Port our new chaps made enquiry as to the pyrotechnics they had witnessed as they sailed along the coast and were told that a ruined fort, thought infested with Gnolls was close by that location. Brave chaps set straight off to investigate and by the end of the 16th had found our heroes.
Joining forces the following morning they attacked the fort. Aiming to get around the east side and enter via the broken wall in the SE corner.
Much fighting and magic was evident with our fellows eventually winning to within 30’ of their goal. 3 Gnolls lay dead before them another burned and transfixed upon the watchtower where two further wounded Gnolls are in magical slumber. With these is one Gnoll archer currently drawing a bead on Clyw who has climbed the east wall and is now 10’ from its south end. Below a brace of Gnolla have removed the makeshift driftwood gate. No evidence of further movement within the courtyard is visible.
We join them next week at the start of round 7.
Initiative Order
#17 Thebia
#17 Gnolls
#13 Clyw
#9 Xandor
#9 Earendil
#4 Alkaia

Review of Session 13 (Tuesday 1st May 2018)

Players and their characters
Genghisdon with Earendil of Mitra, Cleric of the Light
Kentheconfused and Xandor the Wizard
Bochi playing Alkaia the Amazon Ranger
Dreamteam playing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO
Icemaiden and Thebia, Amazon Paladin of Athena from Highhaven.

Events from 10:30AM 17/9/4447 to 1:00PM 17/9/4447.

Our heroes make swift work of the remaining Gnoll the others flee north towards larger ruins in the distance. The two sleeping ones are captured, questioned and then released.
Working on information received our chaps venture down a spiral staircase found in the ruined tower into an spooky green marble clad underground Mur Shunna Temple. They explore a row of marble heads on plinths leading to a chamber where four copper wolves stand guard over the last. More ancient Veridian writing is on a lupine mosaic beyond, Earendil translates this as ‘WHEN ALL EYES ARE ON THE EAST, THEN SHALL THE WOLF RISE.’
Returning west along the long chamber they see through an ancient copper portcullis the temple’s alter to Amadad Bog but decide to go through the copper clad door they find to the north. Firstly rescuing a merchant, Hassan, captured by the Gnolls, his friends eaten. Then up a narrow winding stair they go to do battle with the huge, hairy Gnoll leader. This fierce creature comes close to slaying Thebia but in the end a combination of Xandor’s Magic Missiles, Mitra’s holy fire, Alkaia’s spear and a cunning blow from Clyw finish the brute off. Considerable loot is found.

Total XP for last week and this 415 each

ew of Session 14 (Tuesday 15th May 2018)

Players and their characters
Genghisdon with Earendil of Mitra
Bochi playing Alkaia the Amazon Ranger
Dreamteam playing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO
Icemaiden and Thebia, Amazon Paladin of Athena from Highhaven.

Events from 10:30AM 17/9/4447 to 2:30 17/9/4447.

Clyw managed to open one of the chests revealing silver within. The second lock resisted both his nimble fingers and the more direct actions of our ladies.
In a huff Earendil and Thebia went topside to keep watch for vengeful Gnolls while Alkaia and Clyw set to searching out secret doors in the temple foyer below.
Both took about an hour to yield results. Our secret door searchers found nothing but did ascertain that the lion mosaic wall was hollow beyond. They were disturbed about this time with shouts from above and Alkaia went up to investigate leaving the Rogue twisting the busts of Amadad Bog atop their pedestals to face eastward.
Meanwhile Thebia has been watching a solitary figure traipse from the Hradd ruins across the Targnol Plain towards her. It turned out to be a sturdy if ancient Dwarf. Hunchbacked, dressed in furs and leaning on an oaken staff. It seemed he wanted to talk and after a brief altercation he was helped into the fort across the new barricade. His news about the Gnolls been robbers for sure but not man eaters (indeed they ransomed any captives to subsidise their income) set alarm bells ringing.
Quite rightly so as it happened for as Clyw was twisting and turning the heads the creature that had been Hassan gave away its true nature; it was a Dopplganger!
The foul thing attacked our thief who fled up the stairs and was only saved by throwing marbles behind him which caused the perusing monster to go flying and cartwheeling back down the steps. Clyw raised the alarm and our heroes along with Kappa (the Dwarf) went down to do war upon it .
A nasty little fight followed with the creature deciding it was bested and fleeing. But our fellows were too quick and it was brought down before it could reach the road. Thebia taking it’s head to make sure.
Here we leave them for now.
XP 175 each
Bonus XP for Clyw. 25 for his inspired marble trick actually working and 50 as promised for the map.

Players and their characters
Genghisdon with Earendil of Mitra
Kentheconfused and Xandor the wizard
Dreamteam playing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO
Icemaiden and Thebia, Amazon Paladin of Athena from Highhaven.

Events from 2:30 17/9/4447 to 17:00 17/9/4447.

Alkaia and Earendil kept watch above as the others, bidding Kappa farewell went below to start bust twisting in earnest. Firstly turning them all south to lower the bars into the Mur Shunna Temple where a thorough search turned up a mother of pearl bowl containing half of a bronze key.
Next they moved them all to face East in line with the verse in the mural. This caused the wall section to the east to lower and also animated the clockwork wolves. The battle that followed did not go well and it looked like curtains for brave Thebia but desperate spell casting, spear chucking and final sneak attacking won the day.
It was about now that Earendil popped his head in to investigate further through the secret door with the rest. A staircase in the chamber below wound down to sea level and here a room was discovered with statues of Amadad Bog and a large sea water pool. Standing up out of the pool was a green marble pillar with what they took to be the second part of the key upon it. Further rumination was suspended by the sudden appearance of a Giant Octopus from the depths below sending our hero’s scattering for safety. Well all but Clyw who calmly shot and stabbed at the many writhing tentacles before making a debonair exit.
After a little chat and brow mopping it was Xandor with his Mage Hand cantrip that secured the rod and made the key one again. Sure enough it fit snugly into a key hole above and opened a small door into a natural tunnel leading north-south.
We will join our likely lads and lasses here next week.

Players and their characters

Kentheconfused and Xandor the wizard
Dreamteam playing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO

Bochi playing Alkaia of Sea Rune, Amazon Ranger.

Events from 17:00 17/9/4447 to 13:30 19/9/4447.

Sleep was much evident and all awoke feeling refreshed with their shiny new powers. It was decided that a visit to Krak the Gnoll Warlord was in order to try put things right over the massacre at the fort. Trudging across the damp plains towards the Hradd Ruins they were intercepted by a party of the shaggy humonoids and a pack of hyenas. Thankfully parlour tricks were sufficient to cow the craven creatures into taking the party to their leader.
His Hall was barbaric to say the least. Krak sat on his wooden throne with two massive Hyenadons on chain leaches at his feet. He regarded our chaps with surprisingly intelligent eyes. Eyes that were smart enough to spot the supplicants casting spells and one of them even trying to sneak off through one of the many exits, right under his snout!
This did not please the Lord of Gnolla but some sweet talk from our sensible lasses had stuff moving along nicely and even gaining information on the Night Mother, the Wight mentioned as haunting this area of coastline. Or it was until Clyw decided to use more magic and conjured a spectral hand to pet the fierce giant Hyenas laying there minding their own business up until now. The effect was two fold. Firstly the huge beast so rudely awakened by the disembodied claw appearing from nowhere to scratch at its ears jumped out of its skin then enraged began to pull at its chain trying to savage its would be tormentor, his cohort joining in the fun and straining to escape his chain to attack. The second was to enrage the Gnoll chief, already short on patience having warned these cretins about sneaking and witching, into a frenzy! They were lucky to only be shown the door with dire warnings that if they were still infesting the seaside outpost by midnight that a grizzly gate would await them.
Returning to the Mer Shunnan temple and the little secret door, they turned north. The passage soon turned cold and then freezing. Alcoves to either side seemed to harbour their own ice storms but Earendil cunningly deduced that these were creatures of the elemental planes and talked to them briefly before roasting them with his fire magic! The Ice Mephits put up a token resistance but the party made swift work of the partially defrosted imps. They had learned from them however that somewhere ahead lay an enchanted blade that the Green Emperor and his priests were keen to keep hidden...
We will rejoin them here next week.

Events from 13:30 19/9/4447 to 20:30 19/9/4447

What can I say but our guys done good.
It waited like a great bloated DM spider with anticipation for the characters to fly with fear from the Barbed Devils I’d set to guard the magical sword Ashrune. I may even have dribbled a little in anticipation. But I was undone. The fearless Earendil and Thebia boldly set to dragging a reluctant Clyw through the dangerous Fiend filled chambers until the enchanted blade was in their hands. Even more surprising was the way they cleverly spelled their way back out. Athena & Mitra were both smiling upon them this day.
Finally checking the southern path they discovered the body of a recently dead wizard. Taking from him clues to a conspiracy, his spell book and his miraculous folding boat. The later they loaded up with treasure and sailed it north into Targnol Port Just as the September sun was setting.

The Clue Scroll.

Master, I will see a copy of this report gets to Wrench at the Boatman's Tavern. He can get it to Lareth at the gatehouse easily from there (If those wretched frogs don't get him!) and thence to you at Caer Cadwen. The map you gave me was accurate, though Gnolls lurk in the ruins above I was able to find the secret entrance and gain access to the sanctum as you had guessed. Alas I could get only a short way in. I was attacked by foolish Ice Mephits which I destroyed with ease but the next chamber was not so simple. The Priests have bound a Devil there and my magic was unable to penetrate their wards. I could not risk battling the monster physically so will take the boat to Targnol Port and seek bravos to aid me once I rest up. It would seem you were right as always. The cursed Mer Shunna really don't want the sword found! Your Servant Papak Amanj Praise be to the Natchai!

Events from 20:30 19/9/4447-17:00 20/9/4447

The parties arrival in the harbour did not go without notice and the agents of Natch-Ur set to work to entrap the ones who had returned in their master's magical ship. But that was for later...
Seeking out the Star of the West our guys and gals booked in to the luxury accomodation and enjoyed the pampering. They dined with captain Matteus and arranged to sell him their loot. They also heard rumours concerning a flying iron kettle, seen over the city that day and of a possible shop where arcane supplies could be purchased (the latter been a set up by the Natchai Cult leader Hamid Hasham who had tailed the group here).
After a suitably relaxed breakfast they booked their rooms for another night and set out to find the various bits and pieces they desired. Finally ending up in Black Lotus Street and falling into the trap, where they were attacked by cultists of Natch-Ur, including a fearsome bererker.
The gals got the fight off to a good start, resisting the Command Spell of the leader and things went down hill for the baddies after that. A clever spell from Clyw saw the Bererker rolling around in laughter rather than frothing at the mouth and after gathering information from him, he too was dispatched. They searched the area and made good their escape. Clyw taking the magical obsidian dagger that Earendil detected and the Cleric of Mitra the red metal half plate armour.
They casually gathered the last of the supplies they needed before meeting back at the 'Star'for another evening of the finest luxury that money can buy in Port Targnol.
Until next week.

Players and their characters
Genghisdon with Earendil of Mitra
Bochi playing Alkaia the Sea Rune Amazon Ranger
Dreamteam playing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO
Icemaiden and Thebia, Amazon Paladin of Athena from Highhaven

Events from 17:00 20/9/4447 - 13:00 22/9/4447

Clyw has a trip around the dives finding out stuff about the shipment of Altani virgins and the Flying Kettle. On the former he discovered that the slaves buyer, Siah Coubja, is rumoured to be a high ranking Natchai and that the caravan leaves at dawn 27/9/4447. With regards to the latter it seems the kettle was flying in a straight line betwixt the Mermist Swamp and Bitter End.
Thebia’s gift was well received on board the Betty-Anne and horses and mules were purchased before our gang reconvened at the Star.
Over nibbles and cocktails Earendil was approached on behalf of the Artabid (a minor imperial functionary) Lejla ib Aasama who’s family hold the logging concession for the Thistledown Forest, where it seems they are having problems with Koses a horrid creature that has haunted those woods for centuries. Fifteen feet tall with a Gorrila’s body, four powerful human legs, no arms and three simian heads who’s eyes shoot stunn rays! Deals are struck and the cunning Mitran also sets the scene regarding the Natchai to this imperial flunky.
Later they leave their luxurious domicile and make their way back to the Street of the Black Lotus to ambush the surviving Natch-Ur cultists. Their cunning plan to grill them for information soon disintigrates as Earendil grills them for real and Thebia reveals the power of Ashrune by severing three of them at the waist with one blow!
They spend the rest of the evening pampering themselves and gorging on bulls balls at their hotel. Alkaia and Thebia making the most of the bathing facilities until the next time.
Setting off at dawn they follow the Emperor’s Road along the North bank of the Stickhorn River, breaking for lunch and a quick summoning by Clyw of his Owl Familar a most useful creature set to look out and scouting duties. After a quiet night Alkaia’s eagle eyes spot the fresh tracks that could only have been made by a four footed giant and trail them to a desolate clearing.
The clearing is littered with bleached bones and a stinking central gorge is where they find mighty Koses, luring him from his den with magical noises and illusions.
He proves a daunting opponent, springing 60’ a time on his powerful legs and stunning Earendil with one glance removing him from the fray and then savaging him brutally before his chums can help.
But help they did regardless of receiving dreadful wounds of their own.
The one-two-three of arrows, sneak attacks and mighty sword prove just two much and a critical strike from Athena’s Paladin layed the legendary beast low.
Much healing was done and a plan hatched to loot the lair... next time.

Dreamteam playing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO
Icemaiden and Thebia, Amazon Paladin of Athena from Highhaven

Events from 13:00 22/9/4447 - 15:30 23/9/4447

The brave chaps ventured into the lair of the late Koses after diagnosing that the old fellow had not been well. Here they were attacked by Giant Ticks who latched onto Thebia and Earendil before they were dispatched. A close look at them revealed they were not a species found locally but were native to the Marmonmist Swamp to the northwest home of the Witches.
Pressing on further they came upon the huge bone filled lair of Koses himself, many small gems were to be found among the debris but it seems that Koses was not yet done. His terrible shade inhabited the bones turning them into a veritable tornado of shards!
Alkaia led the charge fearlessly and even Clyw joined the fray supported by Earendil’s magic. Massive damage from Ashrune the Star Spear and the Obsidian dagger sent the Koseses soul to Hell with a final shriek!
They gathered a small fortune in gems and a scroll of Raise Dead complete with a huge diamond. The shine was taken off their victory a little when they found that their mounts had been stolen by bandits. Even the Rangers amazing tracking could not find them once they reached the Green Emperor Way however and so the party took out their magical boat and had the brass Minotaur paddle them back to Port Targnol in style arriving late afternoon.
A crowd gathered to see the amazing vessel once more and increased greatly when Clyw decided to display the huge simian heads of the legendary beast. The common folk thronged the wharf sides to see such wonders and it became close to a riot by the time a mounted patrol of soldiers charged into the crowds wielding their fearsome hippohide whips!
We will see how this turns out next week.

Events from 15:30 23/9/4447-11:00 26/9/4447

The crowds were downtrodden or otherwise dispersed by the wicked thugs on horseback. The leader of whom turned out to be no other than the Satrap of Fagamuc, Tarique Aasama. Older brother to the Artabid Lejla. Transport was laid on and a big bash thrown to celebrate our heroes victory over Koses.
After dinner Earendil filled the Sayrap in on the fiendish Natchai whilst Clyw updates him on the situation with the Witches of the Marmonmist Swamp.
A tacit if unspoken arrangement was sorted for the party to equip themselves and harry the shipment of dancing girls set to soon leave for the City of Spices. A favour was also asked of them to recover a family heirloom, a jade circlet from the Barrow of the Night Mother, ancient ancestor of the Aasama’s but the spectre herself should not be harmed in doing so.
Interesting times would lay ahead it seems. The next few days are spent equipping and enjoying the luxurious Star.
We will join them 11AM 26/9/4447 as they lay in wait along the Green Emperor Way....

Events from 00:00 25/9/4447- 13:00 26/9/4447

Harlgrimn finally tracked the party down to the Star of the West and plans were made to ambush the slave caravan the following morning. They rode out on the instant and found a clever site to stage their attack about 15 miles south of the Port Targnol Bridge.
Earendil halted the slavers in front of rocks that had been layed to block their passage and then the trap was sprung. The fight was mostly short and brutal with Spirit Lions of Mitra tearing up what Harlgrimn did not. We leave the evening with just two uninjured eunochs fighting the Barbarian, one, prone in a pool of magical grease and one in combat with Earendil who may just get backstabbed.....

Clyw watches the Black Palace, important folks come and go as you’d expect. He creeps closer to look at the withered, loin cloth clad form of the Mystic. Next thing the rogue knows, he’s nursing a warm pint of ale in a dockside tavern. These words repeating themselves in his head....

Lady, Fool, Lord
And Sea Rune’s Daughter
Emperor’s Child preparing for slaughter.
Mer or Menhir or Hags of the Mermist
King of Normoot or King of Rags caring?
Ancient reeds shifting if only they’re daring.

Events from 13:00 26/9/4447 - 15:00 27/9/4447

The maidens were rescued after a climatic battle. Among the belongings of fallen rotter, Hakrammis was discovered a journal revealing the truth regarding this caravan of 'dancing girls'. They were actually due to be abducted by Gnolls and taken to Sprinkle Creek where they would be met by agents of Lareth the Beautiful and taken off to be sacrificed in a beastly ritual after next years Solstice (22/6/4448 ). Earendil had heard of this ritual of the Natchai known as the Scarlett Sprinkle.Though requiring 12 virgins it must be special indeed. Hints that it will set in motion some end game on behalf of their leader was mentioned.
Much debate was had regarding what to do with the girls, one, Mina of Ashenshaft seemed more sensible than the rest suggested they would ideally lik to return to their homelands. Thebia's attempts to teach them the bow proved deeply unsatisfactory. It was decided to take them along for the ride until at least after the party had explored the Night Mother's tomb in search of the diadem.
Making camp some four miles from the benighted spot they left the girls for Harlgrimn to look after whilst pushing on to explore the barrow. The waisted land around the place was heavy with dread and below two standing fangs of stone a cobbled way lead into the earth and up to pitted iron gates.
Clyw made short work of the clumsy lock and the portals swung open. However this triggered the lurking guardian within. A massive contraption of the Veridian Eye! It clanked and steamed to attack them.
Mighty blows were exchanged on both sides, one of Clyw's rapier thrusts even rupturing it's innards and rewarding him with billows of scolding steam. It was a powerful spear thrust from Alkai that finally destroyed the thing but not before it sprayed boiling oil on it's death throws. It was a very sorry looking bunch that retired into the watery sunshine to lick their wounds.
We join them next week after a short rest. A rest most noticable by Dreamteam rolling 4 x 1's on his healing dice!

Events from 15:00 27/9/4447-22:00 27/9/4447

Exploring deeper into the Night Mother's Barrow, Thebia detected many powerful Wraiths to the north along with an even more dreadful undead presence that she could not identify. The party decided to head east where a long corridor was illuminated by glowing panels in the roof. Clyw went forward and was pounced upon by mechanical iron spiders powered by some form of lightning. He was savaged quite badly and unable to react, his hair standing on end and his limbs a tremble until his friends battered the things to pieces.
Passing a statue to Demogorgon in the next chamber, one of his heads adorned with a jade circlet matching the description of the one they were looking for. Using Mitra's magic they continued the hunt though and after a battle with another 'Iron Man' this one taken down through excellent tactics with little damage in return they found the secret entrance to the treasure vault as promised.
Opening it proved strange indeed their hands fitting like gloves into the magical key causing the barrier to fade. After much discussion they wisely decided to just take the slim crown they had been sent to collect and they set off back to camp.
They encountered a few Gnoll hunters on their return trip and soon broke camp to head for the coast.
The sea was in sight when they noticed a huge dust cloud gaining upon them. Kraak and his tribe were hot on their heels! They sped towards the coast, herding the panicking girls and Thebia's mighty warhorse aboard. Only Alkai's Spike Growth spell keeping the snapping jaws of the Hyenadon's at bay as they cast off to safety and sailed into the velvet darkness of the Gulf of Tridents.
We will join them here next week

Events from 22:00 27/9/4447-08:00 29/9/4447

Returning by sea to Port Targnol through a terrible storm our chaps split up. Clyw went to his usual dockside haunts looking out for rumours, Alkaia and Earendil left with the diadem for the Star whilst Thebia and Harlgrim stayed on board to look after the girls and Vykhor the fierce black warhorse that had quite taken to the Paladin.
Clyw had little joy finding out further information on the King of Rags but did hear a rumour about a unicorn statue being discovered in the diggings below the Dead City of Harkarim.
Earendil and Alkaia meanwhile headed up towards the Star of the West with the jade diadem. On the way they encountered some Skandik sailors setting off on an expedition to find a magical sword and shield along the Dark River. Upon reaching the hotel it was discovered that their patron and his sister had headed home to Fagamuc for the rainy season. Their factor was hurriedly summoned and the diadem handed over to great satisfaction.
By 1PM everyone was back on the boat and the great brass Minotaur hailed on the oats and took them out to sea. Fair winds propelled them across the Bay of Tridents at a good clip until in early evening Clyw’s keen eyes spotted two massive forms approaching under water and was able to cry out a warning before the Giant Squid attacked. A terrible battle followed and at one point it looked like Earendil and Thebia’s War Horse would be dragged to a salty doom. But heroically the massive creatures were driven back to the deeps to lick their wounds and search for less prickly prey.
The sun had long set when they saw the twinkling lights of Noh to Port. Our little band was happy to sail into harbour and it’s here we shall greet them next week.

Events from 08:00 29/9/4447 - 17:00 29/9/4447

Landing in the frontier town of Nho our gang soon found their way to the Black Dragon Tavern, just opening up as they walked into town down the rutted street. Dwilla Loderbottom proved a gragarious hostess and much information was gathered from her and the locals. It seems that villages to the north were being raided by a fearsome Ettin, whilst two hunters Burt & Sandy had spotted the flying kettle close to the lair of Falsom the Black Dragon, known locally as 'the poorest dragon in the wilderlands'. Earendil was on his way to see Sheriff Shazepan when he was accosted by a goblin slave. This slave seemed a leader of his kind and begged aid to find his kin lost digging out the ruins beneath Dead Harkarim some months before. Dexxel, for such was the goblins name explained gthat shortly after the discovery of the 'Harkarim Unicorn' the roof had been collapsed by 'Dwarf like' creatures.
Our heroes set off south east following the little chap and started their exploration below. Avoiding the poisoned door and slipping through the collapse they made a gruesome discovery. All of Dexxel's band had had their heads removed and mounted on wooden stakes!
Consoling their new friend they pushed on. Finding the unicorn statue in a circular chamber further in, strong sylvan magic radiated from it's golden horn. However something had covered it in disgusting blankets. Two of the other exits had writing in an unknown language above them but Alkaia tracked the dwarven boots to the south. Her and Clyw were like hounds on the trail with Thebia and Earendil following behind. Foiling a would be ambush by two Ogre sized pallid Dwarves they set about them and made short work of it. Here we will join them next week.

Review of Session 27 (Tuesday 14th August 2018)

Players and their characters
Genghisdon with Earendil of Mitra
Dreamteam playing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO
Icemaiden and Thebia, Amazon Paladin of Athena from Highhaven
Alkaia. Amazon Ranger of Sea Rune.

Events from 17:00 - 19:00 29/9/4447

Pressing on deeper into the ruins a Sylvan chamber was discovered, five statues were revealed in alcoves, four of which were identical to our heroes. Touching them revealed their identities within the Prophesy. Earendil the Lord, Clyw the Fool, Thebia the Lady and Alkaia, Sea Runes Daughter. The fifth was of some elven king or God which projected the following lines into their minds.
“Seek the Prismatic Lord, Prince of my people. His wisdom will guide you in battle with evil.”
These cheesy lines rang a bell with Clyw who remembered that Redon the Enchanted, King of Actun is often referred to as the Prismatic Lord...
Further exploration lead to a fearsome battle with more of the enslaved Kazaddurgh including a captain who layed Bold Alkaia low with blows from his mighty hammer before Clyw finished him off with a dagger thrust to the neck. Mitra’s power healed the fallen ranger and then Thebia lates her hands upon her fallen comrade too. They set to looting the crude metal plates from the captain’s crude armour only to be surprised by a skulking Mind Flayer!
A massive blast of psionic energy saw Cleric and Paladin stunned and reeling. Things looked bad for our gang. But filled with righteous rage, Alkaia spring upon the loathsome creature like a wildcat! Thrusts of her magical spear caused massive wounds and in panic the thing dissolved itself into the ether.
A search found treasures including a book showing the ancient Actun Elves fitting the golden horn into the marble unicorn. What will they make of this? Find out when next we play!
XP for Clyw 625
XP for the others 1525

Review of session 28 (Tuesday 28th August 2018)

Players and their characters
Genghisdon with Earendil of Mitra
Dreamteam playing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO
Icemaiden and Thebia, Amazon Paladin of Athena from Highhaven
Alkaia. Amazon Ranger of Sea Rune.

Events from 19:00 29/9/4447 to 08:30 30/9/4447

Clyw discovered a hidden door behind the arras in the Mind Flayer’s chamber. This lead first to a grizzly kitchen (where they stripped some equipment off what they figured out was the brainless corpse of anAmiondel Elf) and then via many empty chambers and corridors to a section of wall, broken in from a much larger underground realm of Faerie. Leaving this for further exploration at a later date they returned and investigated the collection of scrolls and potions finding some most useful but others to be written in languages unknown.
Back to the Unicorn statue they carefully removed it’s magical golden horn and finding that the two ther exits led to a peaceful and undistirbed reflection chamber to the east and a spiral stairway up to the surface to the north it was decided now was a good time to get out with all the loot they had found.
It was while Earendil was speaking with the dead and the others were wrestling to remove the chaise longues that they were attacked by a wandering Displacer Beast. The creature did not last long even though it’s inability to be hit early on initially through them. They returned to their respective tasks and much treasure was gotten along with some interesting information that the Mind Flayers were attempting to secure the golden horn to stop someone or something called White Fire from doing so. This could prove important.
The long treck back to their ship harboured at Nho was uneventful and the arrived just as dawns rosy fingers were creeping into the eastern sky. We leave them here until next week with Alkaia seated comfortably reading the magical book she found so long ago.

Review of session 29 (Tuesday 4th September 2018)

Players and their characters
Genghisdon with Earendil of Mitra
Dreamteam playing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO
Icemaiden and Thebia, Amazon Paladin of Athena from Highhaven
Alkaia. Amazon Ranger of Sea Rune played by Bochi.

Events from 08:30 30/9/4447- 21:00 2/9/4447

Leaving Nho harbour at dawn the little ship headed south. By mid morning the temperature was rising fast and the heavily forested shoreline was turning jungly. It was decided that an evening layover at the Dwarven township of Moramines would give them a chance to see the lay of these sub tropical lands.
The greasy Antillian harbour master directed them to the local tavern, the Hammer & Anvil. Inside it was pretty traditional but out back was packed with human revellers from a half dozen nations dancing to Gnomish steel band music and enjoying the local Rum.
Our chaps had some long over due R&R time and entertained the rubes with risqué poems and songs. Only one rumour was heard and that was of the Invincible Overlord raising a fleet to go to war with the Skandik’s of Ossary.
Morning brought sea swimming and bathing and the purchase of a wonderful tin bath for their boat and a chance for Harlgrimn and the girls to get some exercise on the beach. All in all a nice little breather for everyone before they set off the following morning on the final leg of their sea journey to Port Quitzit. The trip was peaceful enough the only possible encounter, with brightly feathered flying snakes being avoided by a carefully placed fireball from Earendil.
The sun was once more setting as they sailed into the palm tree lined harbour of the little silver mining community. And we shall join them here next week.

Dreamteam playing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO
Icemaiden and Thebia, Amazon Paladin of Athena from Highhaven
Alkaia. Amazon Ranger of Sea Rune played by Bochi.

Events from 21:00 2/9/4447-21:05 3/9/4447

Landing at Quitzit our chaps found another prosperous mining operation peopled by Dwarves, Gnomes, humans from a dozen lands and also the jungle dwelling ebony skinned, Gababobo Hobbits from the Grissly Jungle.
Drinks at the Rune of Argent bar revealed that a pair of Rocks were nesting near to the town of Snarl (map posted) and also a request to buy one of the ‘pretty ladies’ from a befeathered junglehobbit shaman. A request they turned down flat.
In the morning they bought a couple of mules and an old hog cart pulled by Mr. Piggles and set off along the path towards Actun.
The shoulder height savanna grass proved good cover for the Gababobo ambush that came as night fell. And concluded with their leader riding off with one of the girls over his saddle. We will join them again on the 2nd of October as Earendil prepares to set off into the darkness mounted on his magical Fly to give chase!

XP 800 each.

Review of session 31 (Tuesday 2nd October 2018)

Players and their characters
Genghisdon with Earendil of Mitra
Dreamteam playing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO
Icemaiden and Thebia, Amazon Paladin of Athena from Highhaven

Events from 21:05 3/10/4447 11:00 6/10/4447

Earendil sped off after the fleeing Shaman, Unbanumbo easily catching up to him within minutes as the little imp raced towards the safety of the Gristly Jungle with his feminine prize. Mitra’s Cleric called down spectral lions to slow his flight then after a brief exchange of fiery cantrips the jungle-hobbit and his Pig were roasted to death.
Thebia and Clyw galloped up to help but arrived only in time to start carving the pork. Our gentle hearted Rogue insisted they take Unbanumbo’s corpse with them to see if the elves could raise him.
Not wishing to risk further attacks our chaps pressed on into the night and just before midnight the silver spire of Castle Silvan came into sight. It was strange indeed as they approached it was as if they had stepped into a different world. Gone was the intense and sultry sub-tropical night and instead they were walking in a blessed Faerie realm. They made camp and in the morning were approached by a cadre of argent clad elven knights, their banners showing a silver gull on a blue field.
Safe within the fortress walls they told their tale to the Castilian, Baron Cilan the Fair and it was he that was to send word to Actun of their coming and arrange the platinum pendants that would guarantee their entrance.
Setting off along the coast road the following day they looked down upon the anchored merchant ships in the Selget Haven before pushing on up river and finally sighting the wondrous and ancient city of Actun, the Elfhome, as it’s twinkling streetlights began to glow.
The Knights escorted them to the Actun Owl a comfortable inn where after refreshing themselves they were met and questioned by an important looking half Elf in mithril plate armour, Sir Sandar by name. He satisfied himself of their intentions and looked on in awe at the golden unicorn horn and book they had recovered and bidding them present themselves at the court of King Redon the Enchanted an hour before midday the following morning.
We will rejoin them as they approach the royal palace next week.

Review of session 32 (Tuesday 9th October 2018)

Players and their characters
Genghisdon with Earendil of Mitra
Dreamteam playing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO
Icemaiden and Thebia, Amazon Paladin of Athena from Highhaven
NPC's for the evening Alkaia the Sea Rune Ranger and Harlgrim the Barbarian Wildman.

Events from 11:00 6/10/4447 to middnight 7/10/4447

The meeting with King Redon the Enchanted. The Prismatic Lord went well.
He answered any questions the party had regarding the prophesy and some more general ones too.

In the days when the dead stalk the world (refers to the Black Sun)
When that that was risen has fallen again (Nerathi risen then destroyed)
Then shall two wolves rise in the East (Hakeem and his son)
To do war that will shake the stars
Then Heroes shall come forth from bondage (the party)
And all that was hoped for befall.

Lady, Fool, Lord
And Sea Rune’s Daughter
Emperor’s Child preparing for slaughter. (It turns out the Green Emperor does have a son though he has been missing for 80 years)
Mer (Emperor) or Menhir (Natch-Ur)or Hags of the Mermist
King of Normoot (Invincible Overlord)or King of Rags caring? (Mycr)
Ancient reeds shifting if only they’re daring.

He suggested the party stay in the palace before taking the horn to the Narith the following day.
Redon instructed his vizier to arrange transport to their homes for the rescued slaves aboard one of the many merchant vessels at anchor in the Selget Haven.
The party explored Actun at their leisure. Clyw unearthed rumours that the Red Reavers were again active in the north and that Kaystar Saru, Knight Concordant of the Black Sun and now leader of their forces in the North is at Palen Spring (1605). is rumoured he is having ships built to raid into the Romilion Sea.
An attempted break in at the palace was thwarted by Earendil and the would be Thief was discovered as a member of the trade delegation from Jasonyria.
In the morning a procession took the party to The Narith and a meeting with Lutheia, high priestess of Cilborith. There a ceremony to return the horn was completed and the players rewarded with either The Gift of Blood (Fey Ancestry) or The Gift of the Moon (Dark Vision 60’). The characters were also given the title of Elf Friend which will assure them assistance in Actun and beyond.

Upon returning to the palace treachery was attempted with the attempted assassination of High King Redon by Nativad the Steward of Jasonyria using the deadly spirit poison Gledyn Thagnesel in the Elven Tongue - the Crimson Kiss. An attempt that nearly succeeded but for our heroes intervention.
Thebia commanding the villain to sleep in the nick of time.
We will catch up with them here next week.

XP 6,000 each

Review of session 33 (Tuesday 23rd October 2018)

Players and their characters
Genghisdon with Earendil of Mitra
Dreamteam playing Clyw a Rogue from the CSIO
Icemaiden and Thebia, Amazon Paladin of Athena from Highhaven
Bochi playing Alkaia the Sea Rune Ranger.

Events from middnight 7/10/4447- 4AM 11/10/4447

After much interrogation it was discovered that Nativad was in the employ of the dreaded Black Adders, the shadowy secret police of the Green Emperor himself. Initially he was intending to disrupt the silk trade between Actun and Jasonyria but the party arriving with the fabled Horn of the Narith had precipitated more desperate action. Our heroes wanted the villain dead or at the least gelded but the wise elf king thought he may yet be useful and was merciful.
They also discovered that outside of the immediate area protected by Actun’s faerie power that humanoid forces were growing in the area with Gnolls and Orcs now posing a serious threat. But it was decided that the greatest threat was from across the Romilion Sea where the remnants of the Black Sun under Knight Concordant, Kaystar Saru were constructing a great fleet at Palen Spring for who knows what nefarious purpose?
Cunning plans were made and with the help of coin from the King’s purse a small squadron of merchant vessels and fire ships set out guided by Peewit to destroy the threat before it became too great.
Crafty Clyw led the sneaky assault. Earendil’s magic allowing them to walk upon the very waves themselves until the resting warships and partially built galleys all were soaked in sticky pitch. Alkaia and Thebia’s bow strings twanged along with those of a half a hundred marines and the hopes of neo-Nerath went up in flames.
However not everything went to plan and our heroes decided it was wise to watch the enemy ships burn completely. This gave the forces of darkness time to launch a counter attack agin them. An attack first led by evil wizards striking with fireballs from above. One allied ship was engulfed completely and the party on board their magical craft suffered a direct hit too. Only the Rogue ‘s keen sight saving them from total disaster. The fiery explosion burning the hair from Alkaia’s scalp enraged her so and she sent two arrows straight back at the flying Mage transfixing him as he fell dead into the sea.
The first peels of thunder herald the dawn on this scene. Thunder that heralds the start of the wet season. The rains have come at last!
