City State of the Sea Kings
Recent news regarding CSSK: it is now going into layout! The manuscript has gone through its 6th evolution, and is now ready to be formally laid out for printing. Updates as I find them out. If you have not been following Judges Guild news for a while, this book has been in limbo for a long while. Heck I remember seeing a huge binder at a GenCon far back at the White Wolf/Necromancer Games booth with this beast inside. Chris Bernhardt is the main author iirc and Robert Conley is doing the cartography.

Correction I did the cartography everything is finished in that department.Plaag wrote: Robert Conley is doing the cartography.

I tried something new with the wilderness map that plays off the older style JG wilderness map. Should be more useful as it covers a larger area but with the same type of detail and is in color to boot.

More news: "Layout is progressing along well. Approximately 200 pages so far, and half that still to go." from Chris Bernhardt himself.

Re: City State of the Sea Kings
I'm looking forward to this. I'm a little surprised that it's so huge - 300 pages? Yikes!
I'm hoping they do a similar product for the Holy Cities. Anyone heard any rumors?

Wait a minute. Where are in-progress, official JG products being announced? On what site? With what publisher? I need to get back up to speed, and keep on top of this! TIA.

Well I've heard nothing from the author about this since July, so can't report anything new. Also haven't had any emails from Judges Guild in some time - though don't bother them as I used to.

You can "like" Judges Guild on facebook, there's an official page. Other than that, I don't think there are any sites that are regularly updated.

Re: City State of the Sea Kings
Yeah, I found that Facebook page. And while it was interesting and fun to look at the photos, it is difficult to navigate (being a Facebook 'timeline'), there's no mailing list or RSS feed, there's nothing about products in the works and their status, and there's no list of products in print and how to purchase them. Also, in order to move product, shouldn't they have some PR? Again, I stumbled across this Sea Kings product, stumbled across the Facebook site, meanwhile the official Judges Guild sites aren't up to date or helpful either (as well as just multiplying the number of places to look for information).
I wish the Bledsaws and the Guild all the best, and would be glad to purchase some products, but I wish things were a little more organized. One solid source for all the info would be a start.

I hear you there. I've discovered a few interesting things after they have gone out of print.Baron wrote:I wish the Bledsaws and the Guild all the best, and would be glad to purchase some products, but I wish things were a little more organized. One solid source for all the info would be a start.
If only there was a Wilderlands forum, where Judges Guild staff could come and promote their products to Wilderlands fans...
...hang on!

I would like to hear, but haven't. And I would like an official JG news avenue I can subscribe to.

Re: City State of the Sea Kings
I heard back from Robert Bledsaw II. Long story short. The edit has been rubber-stamped. Hurricane Sandy hit the coast near to where Chris Bernhardt lives, but Chris got in touch with Robert to let him know he was OK and the manuscripts and proof were fine (and that his computers were dry).Big Mac wrote:I've heard nothing, but I asked over at the Wilderlands Fans group on Facebook.galliard wrote:Wonder what happened with this. There has been some sort of delay. Robert didn't have the exact details, but it seems like it is a delay in the home stretch.

Re: City State of the Sea Kings
This announcement was posted on the Judges Guild Game Company page on Facebook, just over a week ago:Sir Wulf wrote:Has there been any word regarding this project? I'd love to see it come out this summer.
After a question this additional information was provided:Judges Guild wrote:Rallu : City State of the Sea Kings is going to the printers. A firm was engaged to print both the book and maps, and both will be be sold together as a unit. The legal page, with the help of long-time Guildman James Mishler, has been completed. The next few weeks will see them off the press, and they should be ready for GenCon! Both the author, Christopher Bernhardt, and Bob Bledsaw II will see you there!
Here is a picture of Bob Bledsaw II holding the manuscript:Judges Guild wrote:It stands at just over 320 pages, with two maps at 17x22." Book on 60# and Map on 80# stock.

It looks like it is called Rallu: City of the Blessed on the manuscript. So keep a look out for both names.
Artist, Christina Nawrocki, has written about how the City State of the Sea Kings artwork was created, on her website:

Re: City State of the Sea Kings
It is City State of the Sea Kings and copies have been sold at a convention called DexCon.
I can't find any information about where to buy it online yet.
