VARIANT MONSTERS
Not all of the monsters in this book have their own stat blocks. Many are merely variants on a theme, whether they’re apocalypse horses or calpina larvae. Variant monsters use the standard monster’s statistics but with specific changes. Listed below are all of the monster variants in this book that are associated with rules changes.

I just got a copy today.

Some quick notes on the various creatures here:

Alp: CN fey who haunt dreams.
Alter ego: A sliver of someone's personality is separated by trauma and becomes an independent being made of solid ectoplasm. Tend to damage the original's reputation and eventually seek to destroy them. A construct.
Animus shade: An undead created from someone who died by psionic means, personifying a suppressed part of the deceased's psyche.
Apocalypse horse: The steeds of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Black Horse of Famine, Pale Horse of Death, Red Horse of War, White Horse of Pestilence.
Aquatic insects: Large-sized bugs that live in the water. Dangerous but not supernatural.
Archdevil: Pathfinder's version of these nine rulers of Hell is similar to the 1st edition AD&D version, though each has a twist that makes them distinct (and Barbatos was considered to be a servant of Baalzebul in 1st edition, rather than an archdevil in his own right as he is here). They're close enough to their "classic" versions to be usable in most campaigns that use archdevils (i.e. Greyhawk, Eberron, or the Forgotten Realms, probably not Mystara or Krynn).
Atuikakura: A gargantuan aquatic worm. Similar to BECMI's sea leviathan.
Azata: These are the chaotic good outsiders known as eladrins in 2e and 3e. There are three new kinds here.
Banelight: Wicked dragonfly-like fey. Apparently all of them are female in appearance, and they may mate with will-o'-wisps.
Blight: Intelligent oozes created by ancient reptilian druids, which turned against their creators. Cave blights are radioactive. In Mystara they could be remnants of the Great Rain of Fire, and/or created by the carnifex.
Blighted fey: Fey corrupted by the Abyss. Blights actually oppose them.
Blood bramble: Similar to BECMI's vampire roses (X2 Castle Amber).
Bloody bones: A blood-dripping skeleton that can travel through mirrors. Created by rawheads.
Boggart: Corrupted brownies, depicted with calves' heads.
Boggle: Small goatlike fey, unrelated to the D&D creature of this name.
Bonethorn: These are plants, though they resemble undead. Similar to BECMI's dusanu, complete with spore attack.
Calpina: Insectlike fey, similar to 3e's shaedling (Monster Manual V).
Charnel god: A fragment of a dead god becomes an insane living idol consumed with hatred and loss due to its fallen state.
Cipatli: A 50-foot long dinosaurlike creature created by the gods to destroy one of several abstract virtues such as valor, artistry, clarity, or lore.
Clockworks: Mechanical constructs. This book has clockwork angels, assassins, fiends, guardians, and hounds.
Combusted: Fiery undead. Unliving corpses of those who perished due to spontaneous combustion. Can throw fire, also have a fear attack. Vulnerable to water. CR 3.
Conqueror worm: 80-foot-long telepathic worms who seek to conquer civilization from the shadows. Surprise, the king is the puppet of a humongous worm thing, and so are his advisors. They can also grant clerical spells to those who worship them.
Coral capuchin: Like a flying sea monkey that lives on boats?
Crypt flower: A giant pitcher plant.
Cryptguard: A construct designed to activate if the dead try to rise from their graves, as a first line of defense against the undead.
Cutlass spider: A construct that looks like a spider made of swords and planks, crafted by pirates.
Daemons: Neutral evil fiends, each personifying a type of death. These are the ones that originally appeared in Book of the Damned Vol. 3 Horses of the Apocalypse by Todd Stewart.
Daitengu: Outsiders related to tengu. Oriental Adventures called them human-headed tengu.
Danthienne: "Gossip pixies," tiny faeries who specialize in courtly intrigue.
Deathsnatcher: Jackal heads, vulture wings, rat tails, scorpion stings, four arms. Monstrous humanoids who worship demon lords and are served by the undead.
Deep walker: Gargantuan crab things created by the aboleths.
Demons: In Pathfinder, demons are spawned from different kinds of sinners. The lilitus here are different from the ones in 3e's Hordes of the Abyss.
Derro magister: Derro with extra mental powers who can turn others into their puppets.
Devil monkey: Now I'm getting a little verklempt. Talk amongst yourselves—I'll give you a topic—the devil monkey is neither a devil nor a monkey: discuss.
Dinosaurs: You know what these are.
Planar dragon: Dragons that live on the planes, corresponding to the nine alignments. 3rd edition had similar concepts.
Elder wyrm: A colossal two-headed dragon created to combat divine abominations, though they now decide for themselves exactly what that entails.
Empyreal lord: These are the good equivalent of archdevils and the like. Here we have Arshea, the patron of sensuality; Black Butterfly, the patron of outer space; and Ragathiel, the patron of justice (wayward son of Dispater).
Entrothrope: Like a lycanthrope, but they turn into various kinds of bugs.
Euryale: Powerful, maddened medusas with the power to animate or destroy stone statues.
Eurypterid: Sea scorpions.
Exiled shade: Undead who have been betrayed by the evil organizations they once belonged to.
Exoskeleton: Like an animated skeleton, but it used to be an insect.
Fallen: The ghosts of once-just crusaders turned evil when denied their eternal rewards.
Fen mauler: Corrupted sasquatches.
Fire whale: Whales that live in the Elemental Plane of Fire.
Fish: These are various fish.
Fungus queen: Intelligent fungi created from succubi who tried to invade the realm of the demon patron of fungi.
Ghole: Big hairy cyclopes who feed on rotten meat. Not undead.
Mountain giant: This version is chaotic evil.
Other giants: plague, shadow, tomb.
Gluttongrass: Similar to BECMI's grab grass (X2 Castle Amber) but also they feed on blood.
Monkey goblin: Like... imagine a cross between a monkey and a goblin. That's what you get here.
Goezspall: I'm not even sure what I'm looking at but they spray boiling water at you and survive in extreme conditions. Possibly extraterrestrial.
Golems: gold, obsidian, quintessence, viridium.
Gowrow: Lesser dragons, live near lakes and rivers.
Gravesludge: Part grave, part sludge. Considered an ooze, but has undead-like qualities and turns its victims into juju zombies.
Great Old Ones: Similar to Lovecraft's conception. One is a giant bug that wakes up during the apocalypse and one is an avatar of Yog-Sothoth. The latter could be used as a nightmarish version of Planescape's Lady of Pain. The other is Yig, the serpent god used by Lovecraft and Howard (and the creator god in the World of Freeport's mythology).
Green man: A powerful shapechanging plant. They can grant divine spells to worshipers.
Herecite: An undead creature created by sacrificing five worshipers of a good or neutral deity to an evil one.
Hivemind swarm: Basically, these are Planescape's cranium rats.
Horla: Based on French horror story cited as an inspiration by H.P. Lovecraft.
Horsemen of the Apocalypse: These are the four lords of daemonkind, representing death, war, famine, and pestilence. Apollyon, the Horseman of Pestilence, is based loosely on Anthraxus, with a similar appearance; Charon, the Horseman of Death, is similar to the Charon/Cerlic of previous editions; Szuriel, the Horseman of War, seems to be based loosely on Xengahra (from Ed Bonny's article "Pox of the Planes" in the Dragon Magazine Annual #2), at least in her appearance as a bleeding angel; Trelmarixian, the Horseman of Famine, is based on a character from Todd Stewart's own campaign and resembles a humanoid with three jackal heads.
Hupia: These are from Taino (Caribbean native) mythology. They're undead who try to go back to their old lives.
Jellyfish: These are jellyfish.
Kaiju: Godzilla-like creatures (I suppose you could use them in a campaign based on Neon Genesis Evangelion or Pacific Rim). One is a three-headed dragon thing (essentially King Ghidorah), one is an ooze created when a wizard academy's experiments went terribly wrong, and one is a colossal worm that lives on the moon.
Kamaitachi: A weasel with blades instead of feet.
Kikituk: Constructs made out of whalebones, complete with scrimshaw and added legs.
Krampus: The most evil of Santa's little helpers. Here they suggest he was summoned by ancient druids in the far north, and later fell into corruption.
Leng hound: Winged man-dogs from H.P. Lovecraft's plateau of Leng.
Llorana: From Latino folklore.
Lovelorn: Disembodied hearts with spider legs. A kind of undead.
Mapinguari: A green cyclops with a howl attack.
Megafauna: Big monsters from the Pleistocene epoch, I guess.
Mezlan: A shapechanger created by ancient arcanists, intended as spies. Kind of like the homunculi from Fullmetal Alchemist.
Mire nettle: A carnivorous nettle.
Mockingfey: Part bird, part fey. They will, they will, mock you.
Mokele-mbembe: Carnivorous sauropods from Congo basin folklore.
Moldwretch: Part mold, part wretch.
Mongrel giant: A hybrid of more than one kind of giant.
Mosslord: Part moss, part lord.
Muhuru: Like a dimetrodon that shoots light at you and makes small earthquakes.
Munavri: Subterranean, albino humans. They're telepathic and they can read objects.
Nagas: Dream and slime varieties. Dream nagas are from the Dimension of Dreams, while slime nagas live in the sewer.
Naiad: Fey that look like women made from water.
Nekomata: Evil two-tailed cats.
Oblivion: Negative energy creatures with the power to command spheres of annihilation, driven to scour worlds of all life.
Omnipath: Aboleths who create telepathic networks (or psychic internets) to help various aboleth-kin (alghollthus) communicate with one another and their servants.
Ouroboros: A snake made of thousands of smaller snakes that lives in the Astral Plane, endlessly devouring itself. If you get splashed with its blood, you turn into a swarm of snakes too.
Proteans: These are chaotic neutral outsiders. They're similar to D&D's slaadi, but snake-themed instead of frog-themed. There are six new kinds here.
Psograv: One-eyed wolf-men with ratlike tails and hooves. They gain power by eating human flesh.
Psychic stalker: Undead psionicists, basically. Ghostly floating skulls with visible brains.
Psychopomp: In charge of escorting souls to the afterlife. There are six new kinds here.
Qlippoth: Named for the negative "husks" that surround the sephiroth in kabbalistic lore, here qlippoths are the race that inhabited the Abyss before demonkind. Equivalent to the obyriths from Fiendish Codex I: Hordes of the Abyss. Originally from Green Ronin's Armies of the Abyss. The catoboligne is named for a kind of demon that appeared in Gary Gygax's novel Artifact of Evil. The hydraggon comes from Armies of the Abyss. The utukku is very different from the utukku found in the Savage Coast Monstrous Compendium Appendix.
Giant raven: Like a raven, but bigger.
Raven swarm: An unkindness of ravens.
Rawhead: Monstrous bogeymen who create bloody bones (see above). They like rusty spoons. They like to touch them.
Rougarou: Wolf-headed humanoids (like BECMI's lupins) who can transform into wolves. They hate werewolves.
Sahkil: Corrupted psychopomps who personify various mortal fears. They live in the Ethereal Plane.
Saurian: Big dinosaur people. Like, 20 feet tall.
Sea anemones, sea worms: Various invertebrates.
Siabrae: Petrified skeletons made from druids to battle the corruption of nature.
Skincrawler: This is very literal. Imagine skin, but it's crawling around. It would like to be your skin. You can never have enough skin.
Skrimsl: Did you see that Doctor Who episode where the Doctor taught Vikings how to generate electricity from electric eels?
Slithering pit: Imagine a portable hole that slithers around, trying to eat you.
Solifugid: Spider things.
Giant starfish: Like a starfish, but bigger. Unfortunately no giant sponge for it to be best friends with.
Giant sundew: Like a sundew, but bigger.
Taniwha: Eels with crocodile heads that manipulate memories and seize magic.
Tarantula tree: Actually a kind of tree, not a kind of tarantula.
Targotha: Blind eels that live in tar pits. They're electric, but they also breathe fire.
Tenome: You saw this guy in Pan's Labyrinth. You know the one, the guy with eyes in his palms? Yeah, that guy.
Thessalhydra: An adapted AD&D creature. Hydras genetically manipulated by Thessalar.
Trailgaunt: Undead who have to stick to trails.
Troop: A way to treat groups of creatures as a single monster. Like a swarm, but for groups of medium-sized creatures like brigands and drow.
Unrisen: Botched undead. Like you tried to make a zombie or a ghoul, but it's too messed up to walk around so it just kind of drags itself around with its messed up limbs.
Urhag: It's like a flying mouth with a stinger-tail and it tries to burrow into you. Originally from Lovecraft's Plateau of Leng.
Veiled master: An aboleth with the power to shapechange itself into human or humanoid form, and it can consume memories to help it fit in.
Vespergaunt: Emissaries from awful space gods.
Vrykolakas: Kind of a savage quadrupedal vampire.
Warmonger: A construct made to mong up your war.
Titanic whip spider: Like a whip spider, but bigger.
Whisperer: Evil, faceless fey who seek to defend the wild from civilization. They hang out with other wicked fey and undead. They're 15 feet tall.
Wild hunt: Hunting fey. Archers, hounds, horses, scouts, and the Horned King who commands them.
Yaddithian: These guys from Lovecraft's "Through the Gates Of the Silver Key"
Yurei: The ghost from The Grudge,
Spore zombie: These are actual zombies created by spores, such as those from the fungus queens (see above).

I looked through it briefly in the store on Tuesday, while killing time before PFS. It definitely has some interesting stuff, but I've barely used anything out of Bestiary 5 yet, so it isn't a big priority for me at the moment. (My birthday's in a month or so, and I certainly wouldn't turn it down if one of my players bought it for me. That's how I acquired #5.)

About halfway through the book, I overheard the owner and a couple fellow PFS players talking about it on the other side of the store. The owner mentioned the Great Old One Yig, whose entry I had just glanced at mere seconds before, so I piped up to confirm some bit of the stat block that he was trying to recall. Those who know my history with Green Ronin will understand my amusement at this bit of serendipity!
