4E Warcraft Races

Post by dfryer36 » Tue Aug 17, 2010 1:49 am

Someone sent my this link http://www.scribd.com/doc/18033711/DD-4 ... raft-Races and as I am no expert on World of Warcraft, I wondered if someone could look them over and tell me how well they approximate the races in the game.

Overall, they look reasonable.

I'd probably consider changing Arcane Body to Resist 2 Force (3 at 11, 5 at 21) since the racial modifier has jumped around a bit (used to be +resist to all magic types, replaced with a penalty to opponents' to hit with spells against them). I suppose the Fort bump is also reasonable.

The Draenei version of Radiant Resistance may be overpowered if you have a lot of radiant damage (scales pretty high and fast), but it might be better served as a shadow resist which matches more closely with the MMO's feature (-2% to hit Draenei with a shadow spell or effect). Say, shadow +2 resist (+3 at 11, +5 at 21).

I saw a couple other niggles, but I'll say that the power version of the racial abilities is pretty solid for 4e. I'd be comfortable trying it out as written, with the caveat that some things might end up needing to be tweaked later.

Cool link, though getting a proper download without paying a fee was a pain.

I wish the panda race was there.

Maybe I can use this document and my 3.5 WoW books and come up with a workable Pandaran.
