Has anyone taken a look at these new Endless Quest books by Matt Forbeck? Is there a chance there is information here that could be useful to Ravenloft fans?

At first sight, it should be different from the "old" (and cherished) AD&D Adventure Gamebook The Master of Ravenloft (se more info here: https://gamebooks.org/Item/134/Show ), as in the "old" gamebook (BTW very adherent to the original RPG adventure) the hero was a paladin while in this Endless Quest production the hero is a Cleric.

Interesting!

I wonder if Matt Forbeck took any clues from the older gamebook? :)

I hope every ending is a grisly demise for the Cleric. Otherwise, how will it be true to the adventure? ;)

Having read a couple of these things now, I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. While he's probably looking at new books rather than old ones, he's definitely not skimping on the lore in a more general sense; the earlier Cleric book in this new Endless Quest series was extremely closely tied to "Tomb of Annihilation".

Matt Forbeck knows his stuff.

He is friendly towards fans too.

It looks like the brief, for these new things, is to have different classes for each new Endless Quest book. The Forgotten Realms books seemed to be a set of four, with one of each class (unless I missed anything) and viewpoint characters that all looked different.

I'm not sure what the deal is with the Ravenloft Endless Quest books, but if they are going with the 2e Domains of Dread type of Ravenloft, we might have viewpoint characters that were sucked into Ravenloft from different Material Plane worlds.

Alternatively, he might have sucked the viewpoint characters (or companions of them) from the first set of books into Ravenloft.

Looks like the Dungeons & Dragons: Escape from Castle Ravenloft blurb on the Penguin website confirms this lady cleric hails from Toril:
Penguin Books blurb wrote:About Dungeons & Dragons: Escape from Castle Ravenloft

Welcome to the Forgotten Realms Endless Quest books, where you don’t just read a fantastic tale. You become the hero — and choose your own fate.

You have entered the mist-shrouded realm of Ravenloft, where you attract the attention of Count Strahd, who decides to make you one of his vampire spawn. After awakening to find yourself alone within the walls of Castle Ravenloft, you must figure out how to escape the vampire lord’s Gothic lair before you are doomed to become his slave for all time. Keep your wits about you, cleric.
Was there an official Forgotten Realms/Ravenloft crossover point in the 5e Ravenloft book?

Discussion of the D&D 5E Endless Quest Series in general split into a separate thread here.
