Alright, let's see some dice rolling! Virtually, of course, in our imagination. ;)

I post from US Central Daylight time, so... GMT-5

I have a spreadsheet going in Numbers that I can port over to Google docs, that I am filling in as the character stats roll in (pardon the pun), although I personally have never really been a fan of everybody at the table knowing all the other PCs' stats and abilities. but that's just my preference.

I can host the sheet (once I figure out how to use it) unless another of you wants to do so.

Oh, and I'll also need your Four General skill choices. Please let me know if you don't have access to General Skill info. it seems to me that most of you have either the Rules Cyclopedia or one or another Gazetteer/Creature Crucible.

Though I could be mistaken. it happens every now and then ;)

I may have been too vague, I meant only sharing between the GM and the player, not public. Just a way to keep the character sheet updated both sides of the table.

Ah, I see.

Might it be easier to just use the PM system here? It stays more ore less here, onthe boards, and doesn't risk getting lost in my swamp of an email box ;)

Well, I think I have things figured out for my thief.

Weapon Mastery:
Light Crossbow, Dagger.

General Skills:
Danger Sense, Detect Deception, Alertness, Food Tasting.

I'm going with the idea that this thief is a bit paranoid, developed in good part to being weakly and living on the streets.

Some "warm up" exercises, if you will.

Is that an IC (In Character) thread or is it a discussion thread. (I don't want to mess the thread up with the wrong type of content.)

This would be In Character -- sort of the "first five minutes of the movie" where introductions are made, scenes are set, etc.

Stretch your character's legs, get into his (or her) head, kick the tires, take a spin around the block (so to speak) before the trigger encounter drops next week ;)

Upon further reflection, I'm going to switch this character's weapon mastery from light crossbow to shortbow. I think the crossbow would be too cumbersome for someone living in inns and on the streets all the time. With the bow he could just keep it unstrung and it is little more than a small pole. So;

Castinus
Castinus is little more than a scrawny street urchin, living wherever he pleases; usually at an inn, tavern, or other place of that kind. He is of Thyatian background (possibly mixed) although he no longer remembers his family name with any confidence of being sure so he just leaves it unsaid. He survives by being just one step ahead of trouble, quick, flexible, and making the right friends.

Weapon Mastery:
Shortbow, Dagger.

General Skills:
Danger Sense, Detect Deception, Alertness, Food Tasting.

Uhg... Sorry folks. Nearly a week has flown by and I've barely noticed it. I need to withdraw from this game (though I'll still be following along with much interest). I'm already neglecting some of my other online games and I'm afraid that my cup is overflowing at the moment.

Hope I haven't been holding anything up.

I had a feeling with the Vales, the Throne of Stars, two issues of Threshold, a real world job and family, things might be a bit over-stretched.

There's always TCs 2, 3, and beyond to test... who knows, by the time your plate is cleared, I may actually have them written!

I've been an avid follower of Thorn's World for years now, and I'm definitely interested to see how this plays out, so you'll have at least one lurker pouring over your threads (and maybe popping up in the OOC one).

If you don't want to spend the time buying equipment, the Dragon Article "Different Totes for Different Folks" has the following quickie thief loadout:
Item|Cost/Enc. Backpack|5gp/20 Bedroll (attached to pack)|1gp/50 Candles (3)|3sp/3 Climbing hook|5gp/40 Gloves, soft|1gp/5 Hammer, utility|2gp/10 Iron spikes (10)|1gp/50 Magnifying glass|3gp/5 Rations, iron (1 week)|15gp/75 Rope, 50'’|1gp/50 Sack, large|2gp/5 Thieves’ tools|25gp/10 Tinder box|3gp/5 Total|64.3gp/328

I'm not a huge stickler for encumbrance, so that number is just a "for reference." Note that he'll also still need to buy some armor....

I was thinking about that too. I'll just be going by the RC since that is the rules set I'm using - so I'll be doing 3d6*10.

FYI, I'll be away until Monday evening.

Alright, since this is our Out of Character Discussion thread, I think we should use it to discuss how we want to approach these ruins.

Should we try to get over the rubble to gain access to the courtyard, and then somehow try to get to the other side where the doors are?
Or, do we try to get up on the walls? Do we try to sneak through this or take out the kobold guards quick? (if one escapes us to alert others, that might be bad.)

Thoughts?
